Nice video! However I wish you showed us how the grind sizes and their homogeneity are with this coffee grinder! Still had a good coffee vibe! 🤪

Finally a good review under 5 min! Short and sweet. I don't know why some make 30 minute reviews on these things. Anyways, going to pick one of these up this week. Thanks!

How long did it take to grind coffee beans from bean to espresso grind? Was it really 10 minutes? How many grams of coffee can you grind at once- like am I grinding for ten minutes for each double shot??
@goodcoffeevibes93603 жыл бұрын
Hey Johnny not really 10 mins... I would say about 2-3. You can grind about 50ish grams of coffee in that grinder.
@goodcoffeevibes93603 жыл бұрын
For like 18g of coffee to espresso grind, you’re looking at maybe 1-2 mins

If you’re grinding enough beans for a week’s supply of ground coffee you are missing the secret of doing beans for one or two cups. FRESHLY GROUND BEANS ARE MORE FLAVOURFUL THAN WEEK OLD GROUND BEANS. I’d rather spend 3 minutes on a flavour + cup of coffee instead of ten minutes doing a video and tossing out most of the inferior aged and dried out ground coffee.

How much Clicks would you use for a v60?
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Hey @adrian sorry for the delayed reply here!! I don't use a v60 much I'm but my instinct would be to start at a medium - course grind. Then you can play around with the grind setting depending on how the coffee extracts. I would start with about 6-8 clicks assuming you are starting with the grinder being completely shut. I tested it out myself right now and found that the grind adjuster could come loose and kind of mess up my count on the clicks. So use your best judgment and let me know what you find out. We're planning to do some v60 videos soon so make sure you're subscribed to stay tuned!

How to dail in this for grinding espresso?
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Get it very fine! Just a couple clicks open will do.
@TheAlexRosas4 жыл бұрын
Have you had any issues with the burr not adjusting (moving down) when you turn the adjustment screw? I figure I might need to disassemble since the spring could be stuck on something.
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex no we haven’t but it sounds like yeah you might need to disassemble it, if you’ve already tried shaking it loose and making sure nothing is blocking the way.
@mightymightyironhead3 жыл бұрын
Make sure that the adjustment dial is on the right way up. If you have put it on the wrong way round, it will open when you grind your beans. You will know the correct way when you turn the adjustment nut and it makes the clicking sound.

What's a good number for french press on this thing considering the coarser the less consistent. Also I've heard medium roast is better than dark roast for a French Press any thoughts 🤔
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Hey I’d say around 14-15 clicks is what I’ve liked for French press. I’ve done light roast coffee on French press and it can taste great! It’s more about brewing properly than it is about roast level.

I have this grinder. I have been thinking about running it with a slow speed drill with a nut driver attachment on it. I am grinding for French Press so it takes a lot less time... but still...
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Hey John now that's creative! Haha. Yes at that point maybe it's better just to get a nice electric burr grinder lol.

Many simply convert the manual grinder with a drill to go cordless electric, I've been doing this for +5 years 😂

Cool video... im so agree with u, manual grinder For espresso need so much effort. Try 1 time with my timemore for espresso (click 8) SO TIRED.... Manual grinder for manual brew, thats perfect combination 😁😁🙏🙏
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Yes even though it’s a lot of work to manual grind, it’s still fun sometimes. We just like using the drill mod when we’re in a rush and don’t have an electric grinder handy!

I have one. Very good price VS quality ratio :-) Consistenci isn"t so good but not bad at all.
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Yep. Good quality for the price.

Ceramic burrs suck. There's an extreme amount of burr wobble and inconsistency. Buy a manual metal burr grinder, like an air-grind, or a timemore grinder for 100 bucks. Its more expensive but grinds way faster, way better and much nicer overall.
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Franco! I have noticed there can be a bit of a wobble to the Hario grinder. Why are the manual metal burrs less wobbly?
@Sim2Real.4 жыл бұрын
@@goodcoffeevibes9360 Because they have stabilizers and bearings, and since they are higher quality the tolerances are lower. Most manual metal burr grinders (on the 100$ range) are extremely good, even better tan electric grinders in te 300 range since they dont have to build a motor for it!
