​@@asthatiwari7813 I began learning C++ in September 2023 during my first semester of BTech in IT at NITK. After about a month of study, I started writing small programs on my own. At the same time, I was also learning the MERN stack by following Harkirat's videos (though I still have a long way to go with web development). Prior to this, I had a little Java experience from my 10th grade schooling. I started contributing in late January, but I had been active on their IRC much earlier. P.S. I just finished my first year :)

​@@ayushjoshi9531 When I applied to Haiku, I followed rough guidelines. My project wasn't heavily focused on low-level programming, and I believe my selection was due more to the strength of my proposal than my prior contributions. I made 2-3 small contributions, fixing some issues. Haiku's unique operating system API, unlike any other OS, required a lot of extra study. The GSoC lead often asked me to research topics and answer questions, helping me understand how to start. Staying in touch with your GSoC mentors and leads is crucial; the person I discussed my project with became my co-mentor for GSoC. Most tips from the video are really helpful: start contributing early to understand the codebase, stay in touch with the organization, and be curious from day one. One more tip: get your proposal reviewed multiple times by your mentors before submitting it. My future mentor reviewed mine several times and asked for detailed plans. And remember, don’t get overwhelmed by huge codebases - that happened a lot to me at the start (still does to be honest xD) but its part of the task :) Btw: I write medium blogs on my GSoC journey so would really love it if you go through them (you can find them on my LinkedIn) and let me know what you think :)

I am org admin for the Linux Foundation and project lead of OpenPrinting (and co-founder) of it. Great interview of Rudra Pratap Singh! Thanks a lot, Harkirat! He was really an amazing candidate and was very enthusiastic on the Snap automation work which helped me to deploy Snap automation on the CUPS Snap and the 4 Printer Application (printer driver) Snaps. So I selected him with a high rank and he continued strong on the rockcraft-based OCI containerization of CUPS and the Printer Applications.

So proud that my best friend Satyam Soni is part of this amazing podcast😃.There are many things I taught him during the GSoC prep and he taught me many things about CNCF as well. He is the organizer of CNCG New Delhi and has hosted many events related Cloud Native, he is great person and has shown exponential growth in the past few months. That is why going to networking event is a very good habit because you never know when you are going to find a best friend, a mentor or a potential employer at such events. Proud to say that I am also a part of 100xdevs 0-100 cohort and have been selected twice in GSoC (openSUSE and CNCF's KubeArmor). Looking forward to achieving even greater feats in the future😁

Same time in lost year 2023, i swa your video of how to crack gsoc 24 that day i take printout of gsoc and pasted it on my wall , that is the only thing i have done to crack gsoc and i am watching cracking gsoc 25 in 24 . I hope i achuve it this year i dont get new printout bcz lost year printout still looks good and newer .. I think you don't mind if i answer You can join the contents is available and you will be able to cope up with it But you just have one disadvantage that is you can't attend live classes as it's over now for 0-100 In online classes you can ask the doubt to harkirat that's a plus point Other than that you can go for it or wait maybe next cohort will come don't know Hope you find it helpful :-)
