The only Colson Whitehead novel I've read is The Nickel Boys, and I've never wanted to read another. I'm glad you read this one and told me about it. Harlem has a special place in my heart because a few of my ancestors were among the first European residents there in the 1630's. They were refugees from religious persecution.
