Sadly growing up in North West London, I've seen many older, Irish people living in Kilburn, Cricklewood, Harlesden, broke and struggling.. Hold on to yer money in life.. Poor old man

I’m Irish 60years old worked around Harlesden on and off for years, in the 80s the Irish had fight in them and the black lads left us be. I moved back to Ireland 🇮🇪 when I made my bucks. Breaks my heart to see old boys stuck of course you help them with money,so they buy there drink or drugs I don’t care what they spend it on once they get a few hours peace.Government don’t give shit about old boys like him.

I've spoken to him many times and given him change. Also told him about crisis Brent 5 mins from argos on St Thomas Rd who help homeless singles. Support is there if he wants it

God bless him, I hope you send him up to the London Irish Centre in Kilburn, he's not Irish but they would help him, with food and finding a home ect. Also hope you could help him out by buying him a sandwich and cup of tea. So heartbreaking, so many older Irish people in London are living like this as they got older and couldnt work & were left homeless and broke when they worked hard & built England in the 70s, 80s & 90s. So sad, they should be looked after

Thanks for your comments. I have informed him about the current mutual aid (food bank/clothes etc) that occurs every Tuesday morning (salvation army) and Friday morning (methodist church)

Poor guy. Feel sorry for him. He should head back to Manchester. Hes very accepting and isolated. No one speaks to anyone in Harlsden. Most peoples 1st language isnt English. The best thing the local goverment can do for harlsden is create affordable housing and easier access to mental health support or reduce the causes of social isolation. Its a v mixed community and shared social identity or social heritage doesnt exist. Patrick head back to manchester.

Reduce causes of social isolation? There are hardly any English in the town or the Borough, the same said for the Irish.

I'm not sure why ,you spoke to Patrick like this, not at all appropriate, it's so sad,to see, a man that worked all his life now ,on the street, inside of asking questions, get him, help if he needs some, I'm irish, and it sadden me to see another irish man,in this way. Such a lovely guy,

So sad listen 1975 what is a completely different time to today loads and loads of work I mean you could leave a job in the morning on another job by the evening hard to explain but you could piss easy to get a job then and he would’ve been a very young man in 75 I remember lots of Irish Kilburn Cricklewood Harlesden, Camden Brondesbury Harrow road Wembley Acton etc Poor fella I just hope and wish him all the best that you can find himself a little job to get by and I hope this man who interviewed him gave him some proper money not silly change after that long interview. A lot off the Irish we’re road diggers and labourers for companies like Murphys etc now it’s all foreigners doing it now
