Harley Benton DC-600 VI setup and demo. What should I do with this one?

I had to smooth frets on my "B-Stock" one, by some work with fine sandpaper, nothing difficult, set-up was ok, only one tuning key is a somewhat loose, I'll follow Your kind of fixing too, thanks!

It’s a great playing guitar just a bad tuner so I bought some Wilkinson replacement parts to make it playable again.

Nice review! Looks like this is a lot of bang for the buck guitar. I own a couple of Gibson and a handful of the new 'Inspired by Gibson' series Epiphone, as well as other brands and a B-stock Harley Benton Flying V Victory Flames just for the looks, but I am seriously thinking about buying this one. Although I prefer an SG to be cherry, alpine white or black, compared to Gibson prices this is almost for free. I can get used to that color, for less than 200 bucks. And I have free shipping, which is a major plus. I have wanted a 3 humbucker pickup SG ever since I saw one on the inner sleeve of a Nazareth album, Loud 'n' Proud . I became friends with Manny Charlton later, may he rest in peace, but I never got to ask him about the guitar on the album sleeve. I do know he bought some Harley Benton guitars when he was living in Spain like 5 years ago, he was fed up with paying top dollar for custom shop shyte when he could get good quality for way less. He's still one of my teenage guitar heroes, what's good enough for him is good enough for me. 🤘😎🤘

That hole on the tuner cover is for oil. I've had those tuner machines for years. Zero issues

Yeah I’ve known that but this guitar has one loose slipping tuner straight out of the factory. I tried to fix it but didn’t get it fixed. I just ordered a set of Wilkinson replacement tuners. That will be an update video

Dude, I rarely subscribe (I know ,I'm a dick but I usually just watch videos and that's it) but I subscribed to you at the end of your vid! You're playing was so cool it was kinda like David Gilmour & Neil Young blended together type solos, I really dig your improvisation. It's literally a wonder they can sell that guitar for so cheap when the only corners they cut is with the pots, tuners & nut. The pickups are not Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio quality but still decent. Again man ,good video!

I can assure you these do not have a nitro finish and the specs do not specify what type of finish it is. I would probably assume it has a clear acrylic finish though.

How is the neck dive? The button is on the neck rather than the body like their dc custom. curious if it makes a difference.

The neck dive is pretty typical for an SG model. The placement of the strap button doesn't seem to make any difference. The one thing I did notice is that the guitar wants to tilt forward a bit so you can't always see the fretboard when playing.Changing the strap button location would definitely help that issue with this guitar.

@@Alloykenneth Thanks for the info. I added two 1b scuba weights to my strap for the dc custom. that helped. luckily the guitar is light. otherwise it would not have been a good option.

Is there any way to cover up the HB logo? The guitar is gorgeous but the logo on the headstock puts me off. Maybe if they used another font on this guitar, it would be better. Excellent review of the guitar. The mods i would go with, probably change the tuners, the nut and the humbuckers. This guitar has a great potential to look and sound like Gibson's one for less the price!

Yes the headstock could be refinished but not worth the work for a 175 dollar guitar. I’m going to drop two dimarzio pickups in it and leave the middle empty. New machine head tuners and nut is a must.

Rear control cover rout too deep CNC set wrong depth , foam to attempt to make cover flush. Not a very good job .
