Thanks for all the comments. It was fun to try a Baritone for the first time. The tuning was tuned B to B (4ths) 🛒Here's the Harley Benton on Thomann - bit.ly/3BBLg2l

Not a bad guitar! I do have to plead ignorance when it comes to baritone guitars and what they are used for. Can they replace a bass? Regardless, this Harley Benton looks cool and I’m sure it’s affordable. Cool review!🎸🎸🎸🎸😎

Cowboy stuff, really heavy riffs and they can kind of replace a bass

Love the baritone guitars! I've got 3 now! One is basically a Bass VI tuned "E-E", an octave below standard, then a PRS SE 277 tuned "B-B" and last a Firefly FFJA Jazzmaster style tuned "C#-C#". I use mine quite often in an Ambient Guitar situation and they are wonderful in that world.....along with adding different textures to other genres.

I grabbed one of these when I ordered my Maybach. Very nice guitar! For US buyers - i def recommend buying from HBs Thomann rather than those Reverb sellers that pass off b-stocks as 'mint' for higher than MSRP. Get a new guitar for a cheaper price (even with shipping and customs). Took less than a week to arrive (pay attention to email notifications for customs payments or it will be held).

Depends on the total cost of the order. My total cost from Thomann was about $2,500, U.S. Customs/brokerage fees was $100 (this was early 2022).

If it’s B to B the mental transpose is a 5th from what you normally play. So an open E is actually a B. It’s a good mental exercise and you certainly learn your 5ths pretty quickly. Those 5 frets from zero to 5 are where the baritone shines. Not much point playing above 5th fret because then you’re in standard guitar territory. Even better if the baritone has a whammy bar…

What is the tuning? Refreshing guitar style -- had one in the early 80s that I should have kept. Sold it and a 5w Alamo tube amp to a young mom who wanted it for her son. $105.00 for both. (The boy is now a touring musician)

How do you source so many left handed versions of the models you review? As a lefty I've struggled for years.
@intheblues
@intheblues Жыл бұрын
I bought and sold many of them and then went to lefty specialty shops. Thankfully now, many companies are making lefties so it's easier to showcase them. Where I borrow most of my guitars stocks probably 30 at any one time.

@@intheblues Interesting. The link you have for this model for example, links to a right handed model (I understand this is the most useful for most viewers) and they don't hold the LH model on their site. Its an interesting idea for the price but as a lefty I'm as usual left (no pun intended) frustrated. Always enjoy your content btw.

I have a TE90QM from HB and the P90s sizzle! These sound to me like that diesel train just coming out of the station and picking up speed and full dynamics. Very close to "who needs a bass in the mix" territory. Not for me right now, but there's always tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback, Steppen. You might be right. I should probably sort out a less expensive amp for less expensive guitars. That said, the amp helps the tone more than anything else in the chain. I'll see what I can do. :)
