Just ordered exactly the same bass. That finish sealed the deal! I was going to get the Jazz Bass because I liked the offset look, but nothing I’ve seen looks this good.

Hi Glen, the little drilled hole is done by customs to check if there's no prohibited type of wood used. I think you can see on the package (tape etc.) that the box was opened. Grtz, Paul
@None_More_Metal3 жыл бұрын
Holy crap really? To me that means customs basically vandalized the bass. What if this was a one off custom shop that cost $5,000 and they drilled a hole in it? I'd be pissed.
@victorious5093 жыл бұрын
@@None_More_Metal I was with Mayones on the Namm , in 2012 I think, and they had send their guitars and basses to LA by air freight and found small drill holes in the bodies. and headstocks. Customs checked on prohibited woods. These instruments cost thousands of dollars, it's crazy.

Do you think this would be worth buying if you live in the US? It cost $198 including shipping (shipping is $76 from Germany). The guitar itself is $122.

I have the same bass ... and i did not see you mention, or hear the terrible frettbuzz, so i am now thinking ... did i receive a lemon after almost two months of waiting ... anyway ... mine is gonna be a project, i am gonna get rid of the horrible tortoise fingerplate, and put back an upgraded black one with active EMG’s and better switches etc.

man this is amazing...but I would need 5 strings. Is there this same model with 5 strings also? Excellent video!

Not in the P bass style but they have an MB 5 string with the same finish that I reviewed too. Check the rest of my vids and you'll see it.

Got one last week found input jack into the bass was stiff to take out?

I did notice the other day that it is a bit tight. Probably a good thing so you don't accidentally unplug yourself! 😁

Sounding great right out of the box! After putting on heavier gauge strings, was that bit of fret buzz taken care of? Thanks!
@None_More_Metal3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. Those original string were flapping around like spaghetti. Did a minor neck adjustment too and most buzz seems to be gone.

Nice review. I just ordered one of these, but now I need an amp. What amp do you suggest? Something affordable. I'm a beginner. Thanks
@None_More_Metal3 жыл бұрын
I have an Ampeg b120. It's a solidly built amp with a great tone. Nice and loud for band practice. I think it was around $300 Canadian.
@veritog.27994 жыл бұрын
Compared to other basses you own(ed), do you think this one has a pretty low output? I have to crank input gain on my console/interface as well as on my amp with this bass to get it in the ball park of my other basses volume-wise.
@None_More_Metal4 жыл бұрын
Definitely not as loud as my Ibanez Gio, but that has active pickups. I find active to be too loud. No issues for me with levels in my DAW using the Harley Benton.
@veritog.27994 жыл бұрын
@@None_More_Metal Thanks for quick reply. Fresh strings and little higher pickup action made mine a couple of dBs louder already. With stock setup it appeared almost faultily low in output to me though. I'm gonna re-do all soldering first and shield it and maybe upgrade pickups in the new year. Other than that, this bass is amazing bang for the bucks and you helped me decide buying it. Thanks!

If you don’t mind me asking, did you end up paying a lot of duties on it? I’ve been looking at this also and am scared I’d get nailed with huge duties. Than again there’s a “NAFTA” kinda agreement with Europe so it may be exempt. Care to comment, thanks so much

30 bucks. I thought it would be more but was pleasantly surprised.
