Harley Benton won the award for best budget musical instruments store. I am impressed by the looks and quality of the stuff they sell. I made one purchase and it was a disaster, they sent me a damaged gold top P90 Les Paul copy, but after some going back and forth they gave me tiny discount back that took $25 off the $80 shipping I paid.

H.B.gives great value.I own almost 30 basses and have played and gigged for decades.I bought the sub $200 RB-414 Fakenbacker.I couldn't believe how much it punched above it's weight class.I threw in two superior pickups and it improved an already great bargain.Still came in at under 400 bucks.I would recommend H.B. to anyone especially beginners looking for that first bass or guitar.They will save $$ and gain a keeper.

Hello from Spain. Your video and many others convinced me to buy an SC-550 II PAF. Unfortunately mine arrived unplayable, the graphite but set very high made playing even simple chords impossible without intonation problems. I had that fixed at my cost but then the selector switch failed and the bridge volume & tone control failed. I returned the guitar for repair. When I got it back the selector switch was OK but then both the volume and tone controls for both pick ups were not working. I returned the guitar again and yesterday they gave me my money back.What concerns me is most of the Harley Benton paid reviews seem to get perfect instruments? I just wish I had the confidence to order another, because clearly you got a great guitar.Kind regards, J

Hi from Spain, I enjoyed your video so much and you are an exceptional guitarist so I ordered a SC550ii PAF in June 2022. Unfortunately mine arrived basically unplayable. The graphite nut was set really high and even playing simple chords on the first three frets resulted in intonation problems. I had the nut re- slotted at my expense but then both the bridge / neck pick up volume controls and tone controls did not function. I returned it to Thomann on the 11th.July 2022 and hopefully they will fix it because potentially it is a great guitar. The neck brilliant, the frets perfect, the weight and balance of the guitar exceptional. I just hope Thomann can get the guitar back to me perfect because I really like the guitar. I have to question their quality control, how do they allow a guitar to leave their premises basically unplayable? I did purchase a matching hard case because I look after guitars I buy, and it is really good quality hard case and a bargain. All items I have bought from Thomann in the past have been exceptional value for money so I just hope they can fix my SC550ii PAF. I will let you know when I get it back. Hi from Spain again! Well they returned my guitar and this time both volume and tone controls for both pickups did not function so I had to return it again for repair. Yesterday three months after I bought it they sent my money back which I told them I did not want, I just wanted an SC-550 II that was as good as all the ones I have seen in their promotional videos like yours. The one I ordered in fairness was a "B" stock, but when it arrived it clearly was new and had never been played, the PAF finish was nothing like the images on their web site, this did not concern me, so I presumed that was why it was classed as "B" stock, they said they could not replace this PAF model so I said I would be happy with any SC-550 II, which they declined. Of course I incurred all the costs of the repair to the graphite nut and travelling costs to my city post office three times, because now they have asked me to return the hard case which I bought specifically to look after the guitar, and it is perfect. I have to question do they send perfect models to reviewers? I particularly like your video, you are an exceptional guitarist,Kind regards,John.

Hi Jonathan. My SC-550 II DFB just arrived. After adjusting the ridiculously high action (tuneomatic bridge screw were extremely stiff to start) it plays great and as I already knew, the TESLA Opus-1s sound great. Build quality is brilliant for £238. Knobs are a bit plasticky and the DLX tuners could be better fitted but coming in at a third of the price of my Epiphone LP 1960s tribute plus, half the price of my Sire L7 Goldtop and £100 less than my Vintage V100 Icon, I'd say that's pretty damned acceptable. Now! Will I get the 550 EMG Plus?

I'm convinced you could be given a 2x4 of wood with barbed-wire for strings and you'd get a great tone out of it.

Great job. I have the exact same version of guitar as you, same colour too. I changed the tuners to Wilkinson tuners and wasn't keen of the bridge pickup, so changed that too. Apart from that, great guitar

Really like the sound of these pickups. I am surprised they are Alnico 5 which I usually find a bit too aggressive for me. I prefer Alnico 2 which are generally warmer. But these sound great.

Well done! Yeah, nice guitar with interesting features and the PUs sounds pretty good, don't know if it's them or only your high skilled usage... My only personal thing is the 42mm nut, I'm more a 43mm liking one (with fingers like "Bratwurst" it's easier for me to fret chords 😄). But to upgrade one of my other guitars with similar PUs, they will cost me quite the same as this guitar, so.... Thanks for this great review and take care 👋
