Good review, the tv yellow/ mustard version is a very good guitar too...i was amazed by the quality of finish and sound for such an incredibly low price. Harley Benton are making lovely stuff. Its a good time to be a guitarist...but we all have to still practice practice and practice some more ✌

Mine just arrived, Dec 2020. Great all around. The vintage burst has a slight green tint, with faint green lines in the yellow, not as classic and solid color as yours. Definitely noticeable but acceptable.

I’ve just got the DC Junior. Apart from a small adjustment of the G string and lowering the nut (subjective) I totally concur with this review. A shim on the pickup made it beefier and moving the capacitor to 50s wiring made the controls more interactive for me (again that’s a personal preference). Just something to consider!

thx for the vid cory, great job as always 👍 how about the string action, ive heard that the bridge cant be lowered enough to get a proper low action?
@CoryMura5 жыл бұрын
the height of the bridge can be adjusted. i could go lower on mine but its already low. bad setup(especially neck relief) or a wrong angled neck pocket could lead to the issue you mention.

So - I bought a Harley Benton SC 450Plus VB Vintage Series Les Paul which arrived with damage to the neck veneer on both sides of the nut. After painfully trying to speak to someone I finally received an email asking for photographs of the damage. After sending 31 pictures of the packaging (near flawless) of both boxes and the damage this is what I received from Thomann ... “Hello, Thank you for sending us the pictures. Unfortunately, from the pictures you have provided we can see that the order was damaged during transport. We would like to claim this with the transport company, and in order to do so we would kindly ask you for your help. Please go to the local Post office and ask them to sign the attached, prefilled damage report named "11211150_CN24.docx". Should the post deny to sign the CN24 document, please let them sign and stamp the document named "Post doc ENG.pdf". Also, please write a short damage report yourself using the document named "damage report ENG.pdf". Please write the address of the Post office as well as the day and the hour of your visit using the document named "Post refused to sign.pdf". We will also need a declaration signed by yourself. You can find it on the second page of the document named "Post doc ENG.pdf". This gives us the right to claim the damage with the courier and it will be used against a replacement item or a refund. This way you are spared of the long waiting time that comes with the official claim. Please send us the pictures/ copies of the documents via this e-mail. The documents need to be signed by hand as computer signatures are not being accepted. Important: the damage report needs to be signed by the Post immediately after the delivery of the parcel, therefore please send us the documents as soon as possible. Once we receive all the required documentation, we will arrange further steps for the return of the damaged product(s). Then the product(s) will be replaced or refunded according to your wishes. Should you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards Customer Care International” They have clearly fore gone responsibility for the merchandise and are trying to blame the United States Postal Service for the situation. The packaging is near flawless - both boxes, outer and what the guitar was packaged in. The inner box was inserted into an outer box twice its size with no stuffing to keep it from shifting during transport. The paperwork I have to complete for a return is not worth my time and effort. I believe I will be laughed at when I try to get this paperwork signed. And I feel Thomann is aware of this as well. I am very disappointed in Thomann and will not but anything again nor will I recommend them to anyone. Customer service is a very important piece of the puzzle. I am a small fish in a big pond and I hope they spend my money with pleasure!

Corey how well this plays metal ? Or is it a better straight up metal machine ? I mean I haven't tried out p90s that much. Only twice or thrice and it was all with other musicians set up, I always had wondered if this thing good for metal or not , I know p90s aren't great at that but still tell me your honest opinion bruh
@martinhroch3444 жыл бұрын
If you're used to playing metal on modern hi-gain amps, you will be really disappointed. P-90s are kinda "Lo-Fi" pickups that aren't meant to be used with much gain: *1.* They will emit a lot of noise. Not just 60hz cycle hum, but they are also very sensitive to RFI (radio frequency interference), so if the guitar isn't shielded thoroughly, they will pick up waves from phones, Wi-Fi's, radio broadcasting etc. *2.* They will get really fluffy and "untight" with a lot of distortion. If you play black metal or stoner/doom, good for you.
@presoonjames4384 жыл бұрын
@@martinhroch344 thank you brother ... You explained that to me correctly . I never used it personally all my guitars are HH or Single H. Bye the way I don't play doom or black so often. And thank thou so much!
@martinhroch3444 жыл бұрын
@@presoonjames438 P-90s are great pickups, but they are totally different than humbuckers. Of course they are not *only* for black and stoner metal, but it will take a lot of effort and trying to get something useful for other metal genres out of them. They are simply not made for it. Invaders or EMGs would also sound bad for blues and jazz.

Nice looking guitar and a well made review. I always enjoy them. Personally for me that guitar would work better if the pickup was more central between neck and bridge. I wonder what sites under that scratch place that in all honesty seems pointless with this guitar.
