the ground of the active pickups goes under the bridge, but because of the paint separating the bridge and strings, it doesn't allow for the electric circuit to be complete. some of the paint needs taking off so that there's a connection

Why does Thomann not offer two options: thick neck and thin neck. I only like thin necks. Other than that the guitar is killer for that price and nice specs. I prefer my cheap Squier affinity to my USA fender cause she has a thinner neck and is much easier to play, although all the hardware is much cheaper. But we play on the neck, don't we?
@thegreyfolk26 күн бұрын
2:28 - At this point in time the spec gives the fretboard as "Amaranth", which is possibly better than roseacer.

Se compra una guitarra que es un tributo a la black strat de Gilmour y no toca absolutamente nada de Pink Floyd, espectacular.

Are the three stripes under the bridge part of the design or are they strips that you can remove? I love the look, but not so big on the stripes.

great guitar! and they even improved it compared to the same model from a few years earlier... I own the 2019 as73, only two potentiometers and less elegant than this one in the video but it is already an excellent guitar, this one is certainly even better. Does Nut plastic matter? Nah, just slotted well. Fender on their american series use plastic nut and not so well slotted. thanks for the video!

Who is using 10 looplayers stacked?! 10 layers is all you need for a looper. If you need more, you also need more control for individual loops.

I'm pretty sure these things are made in Indonesia in the same factory that did the Applause AE 128's for Kaman. You don't really want a solid top on a guitar with a synthetic bowl back. If the top isn't as close to being inert as the bowl is, you run a very high likelihood of have the top split lengthwise behind the bridge.. The tops on these are indeed laminated, but they're like the tops on old "export" Nippon Gakki Yamaha guitars, with a voidless spruce core sandwiched between super-thin veneers. The preamp is a common Belcat 505R and has been used in a lot of Ibanez and Washburn branded guitars over the years. The circuit is basically the Ovation OP-24. The tuners are Ping, like on a mid-level Squier Telecaster or Strat. At least, that's what they are on my Harley Benton HBO-600. That's also synthetic bowl back but with a single large soundhole. Roseacer is indeed thermally-treated maple. I like the feel of it, personally. It needs a lot of lemon oil at first, but good to go after a few applications of that stuff. The truss rod is double-action type. I have four of the HBO 600 version with the single sound-hole. All of mine came delivered to my door with the neck relief and 1st and 12th fret sting heights to minimum Ovation specification and the frets were dressed and polished. All I had to do was oil the fingerboard and put strap locks on to make mine ready for live performance.

... you MIGHT also just use a cotton-bud (these hygiene-sticks) dabbend in ethyl alcohol (deutsch: "Spritus"): That's non-abrasive, works on "roilled" bindings as well (idk, but I'd imagine scraping a rolled edge to be not easy, to say the least), and while at it: Clean your plastic/mother of pearl/Micarta-inlays in the same session! When finished, wipe down your strings with it: You might be surprised... Oh: In the beginning, you mention that you don't recommend scraping on the sides of the binding - I agree. However, IF you go down the cotton-bud route - voilà! WORD OF CAUTION: I recommend ethyl alc. for a special reason. The alc. acts as solvent, and you want that effect - however, preferrabyl on the dirt/grime ONLY (otherwise you'd start rto dissolve your binding...). I do use more aggressive solvent (acetone) for extreme situations (e.g. after dying a fretboard). BUT I have to work quick, as the acteone will start to dissolve the binding material almost immediately... Sorry, I almot forgot: Thank you very much for your video! Very clearly explained & great footage too. Always good to see how others are doing things!✌😉

I really don't read where people have had problems with the fretboards. Mine was horrible. You could cut your fingers on the high E side. The nut was way too high. .2 at 1st fret. I threw a graph tech nut on, finished the ends correctly, lowered the action and now it is a playable instrument. It is a cool guitar, neck a bit too thick for my taste, small handed guys take note. All that said, with shipping it was 274 delivered, 12 bucks for the new nut, 286 well worth it.
