Once I was in the car heading home and he was off to his new adventure I was a little bit of a wreck. I was so proud of him for knowing what he wanted and was ready for it. Navy is a good choice. She'll be a teeny-tiny target on a huge ocean, the best place to hide. The places she could visit cost civilians thousands of dollars to visit, and she'll be getting paid to go there. I was in the Navy for 13 1/2 years before getting a medical discharge, best decision I ever made.

Chris. Thank your daughter for her service from all us. I remind myself often this is a volunteer military, so when someone is in service they chose that for themselves and us! My son is in his first year of service as a Combat Medic (68W) in Germany, and the day he shipped off for basic was like losing my best friend. He sends me messages all of the time about how happy he is and how he loves his job. But that first day he left...crippled me, and I was a damn mess. Thank you for being present and honest. If you need anything, we're here for you.
