Harley Davidson Buell Blast no start issue carburetor cleaning 2000-2009

We have a Buell Blast that would not start. The bike had been sitting for a few years. Needed a carburetor cleaning and to have the fuel tank drained and flushed to get back up and running. I hope you like the video and it helps you with the problems that you might be having.

Remember to use a JIS screwdriver on those fuel bowl screws. Many folks strip them out using a Phillip's screwdriver. Look up JIS if you have a bike with Japanese components.

Welp my excitement was short lived. I just got my first bike which is an 03 buell blast from a guy on marketplace. It worked only once and thats when i test drove it. I Let it sit for about a day and a half and the mf wont start. Hopefully it won't be super hard or expensive to get it in tiptop shape because i love the style and feel of this bike.

I'll most likely take it to a HD shop and see what they think and say. I know nothing about bikes or mechanics so hopefully these humans dont screw me over... Bad enough the guy that sold it to me took advantage. Smh 😒

Doesn't seem to matter what option the petcock is turned to on my 2001, the gas seems to just come out regardless. Bike ran okay before the carb was pulled. No good deed goes unpunished I guess. So you don't have to crank for a bit just to get the gas to come down into the bowl? And you don't have to prime it with starter fluid just to get that process going? Only time it fired was with starter fluid, then quit as soon as that was consumed.

So I highly discourage the use of starting aids on bikes. In your case the pilot circuit might still be clogged. Might have to take it apart again. Sorry no fun. As for the fuel always being on. Well that can happen over time as the petcock wears out. The float needle should be able to handle it when not riding. But good idea to grab a new one.

Is that a small gasket in between the main jet and the main tube

Not going to clean or replace the Fuel Supply Needle & Seat while you have it apart.....?

I want to know what is the name of that part you screwing in with 3 bolts in that's attached to the carburetor in the air box the breathing holes attach to Circle things that hold the gasket in place

So I went through and watched. I am pretty sure they are just an allen head bolt (s) that hold it all in place.

@@OTRVMyes i know they allen bolts what is the name of the plastic circle piece that the Allen bolts go into if you go to the end it's 11 minutes 11 seconds you like holding the plastic piece in your hand when you was installing the bolts

My 2005 Blast will not start up at all for the life of me. I've cleaned every tube and hole and jet that carb has to offer but nothing works! I need help but no one around here knows anything about Buells...

Good afternoon. Are you getting spark? How about compression? If you are sure the carburetor is good to go then you might want to start looking elsewhere. Just a thought though.

I have a 2003 Buell Blast that sat for a couple of years and needs a tuneup possible carb clean. I cannot find anyone in Ohio who will work on the bike. Any ideas?

Good morning! Thanks for reaching out to me. If you have not already you could also check any local Craigslist ads for a mechanic (that is where I mainly advertise outside of word of mouth). Or even place an ad looking for a mechanic. Otherwise you might be stuck doing what you are doing now and hitting up the internet for information. Sorry I could not be more help.
