@@PitbullSoco I put a Baker Compensator and their chain tensioner in, and that chain tensioner was so loud, I had to take it out and put my stock TC 103 tensioner back in. My mechanic said my original tensioner with. 28k miles looked brand new. I’m glad I did this, as my primary is much more quiet, and the Baker Compensator makes a difference.

And for all you riders too young to remember, there was the factory recall for a total frame replacement on all sportsters back around 1973 during the AMF years. It seems they decided to replace the cast steel and sweat brazed to the frame top rear shock mount bracket with a horseshoe shaped piece of bent and butt welded to the upper frame tubes steel flat bar stock. And when that failed, the only thing holding the shocks to the bike was the rear fender….

I called my HD dealer on Thursday Sept 7th. They had the part in stock, and replaced the bolt on Friday morning. 30 minutes in and out. Easiest recall I’ve ever experienced with any vehicle, and I’ve dealt with two Ford recalls, two Honda recalls, one Nissan, and one Can Am.

@@HarleyDayRider I've long held the belief... or I read it somewhere ... that vehicle manufacturers have an actuarial sitting in a dark room with no windows. His job is to do the math on known issues, to compare the costs of repairing them all, or paying out in the wrongful death lawsuits. Whichever one is cheaper, is what he recommends.

The entire suspension should be recalled. I've owned a lot of bikes and never had a suspension so poorly engineered as on my SG. Best part is upgrading the shocks and forks completely transforms the bike to a safer, more comfortable ride that's suspension actually works for around $1000 and up. I've also changed almost every fastener on my bike with high quality stainless including the shock bolts with polished allens. Every bolt on my bike was gray and dull looking from the factory. I like my SG a lot now after fixing all the cheap stuff that made it handle, run and look like crap. Like I said I like the bike now but my Ducati was perfect from the factory and needed nothing and i don't understand why HD can't do the same.

I have a 2018 114 heritage Softail Special. I went to get tires. I went to a store that was farther just to get a ride on. The store told me about it. I was going to call my dealer to make a appointment the fallowing week. The service manager came out and talked to me. Mine was broken. We have no clue when it broke. If I hit a bump it couple of been really bad. My fear fender was damaged. And there was a chip of metal off the shock. Harley Davidson is replacing my rear fender and shock. The crazy thing is I traveled 300 miles. And was going over 80. And had no clue my bike was messed up. The shop I went to had ordered extra kits to fix the issue. So they was able to fix it. So I could get home. It will be a couple months till the parts come in. The shock is on back order. Go get it checked out if you got the letter. This is a serious issue.

Why the clickbait? "Harley Davidson is in trouble?", "stock is going to take a hit". At least every other bike I see on the road is a Harley. The three dealerships I've dealt with, which are spread out over the country, are booming, can't keep 'em on the floor. Recalls are ubiquitous. Most all vehicle manufacturers end up having them; it's practically a standard part of QA now. What are they going to do, test every single bike and part for 100K; they'd never get any products out. Ever purchase software? You know that regular "patch" or "newer version" is actually a fix, they just don't "recall" the software. Stop bashing HD, it's a fantastic quality motorcycle. And if you need clickbait to get views maybe you don't really have anything important to say.

What kinda a Harley is that ? I Laugh ! And explain it again , Deja Vu Man , P.S. 112 hp & 118 ftlbs of torque on the dyno , the SWEETNESS ! Skäl , P.S.S . , Jerry Peterson built the motor and shorty pipes , North Star Cycle , he was on the original design team for victory , when I picked up my bike , he had the new style bikes on the lifts , making proto type exhaust systems , every model , shit loads of tig welded rings , looked anodized gold , he made my exhaust , shorty pipes , one off ! Yeah....Harley is so good to their customers....im gonna puke. Cam chain tensioner, Harley hula, and drip drip. That was 2002 Dyna that I owned till 2011 and will never own another Harley. I had to pay to repair everything above and as we all know Harley mech's aren't cheap. Harley denied any of those repairs but yet had parts to repair all the above.......Totally enjoying my problem free Honda for 10 years......keep your junk.
