Just curious, how much base coat do I need for the two clam shell halfs? Thanks again for the video!

@@rickyloper6365 I used about .3 of a litre on both of mine. Black goes a long way 👌🏻 I would suggest at least half a litre if you’re doing anything with red basecoat. And use the correct colour primer. White / grey or mix of both

Thank you for the positive feedback - my bike was the demo bike from Sykes and they’d already spec’d it up for the cheap option from the factory. Such an improvement. I love it even more now 👌🏻

Great job Aaron, keep the videos coming. I am looking at a Sport Glide on Saturday, 23 plate which looks a great deal but it has the matt finish on the bags, seen another with the Vivid black finish on the bags but a 2019 plate but cheaper, i should go for the newer one and get the bags painted, do you know what ball park figure a shop would charge to spray? TIA

Hi Robert, definitely get the latest model you can eh? If it’s in budget. Painting the bags would be around £400 plus vat I think. What area are you in? I could ask at work for a price for you if you’re local enough?

Completely standard mate. 2023 model year come with them like that. Positive note you should be able to buy them directly from HD for your 2019 and fit no probs surely??? Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

Hey Aaron, did you manage to remove the bar and shield without damaging it, and if so, how did you do it?

Yes mate. I used a flat plastic filler card (the kind we use in the automotive world to mix filler / stopper) Be gentle and go in as flat as you can and will lift off no probs. They are actually very flexible (tin or something) and will go flat again once removed with minimal pressure (if made out of shape slightly removing). Be gentle, no probs. The original bonding tape on the back of it was enough to stick it back too. I did have refix tape to hand but really not required. Like and subscribe now pal 😂😂😂 Thanks for the comment

For your viewers looking to find their the paint colour other than black, as H-D are no longer supplying it,, RS Bike Paint are able to supply my kinetics green.

Bonjour, thank you for subscribing! Yes I removed the Bar & Shield logo’s before painting. Very easy to do using a piece of thin plastic (ideally a plastic filler scraper / applicator) just be careful not to bend them as they are very thin badges held on with strong double sided tape. Anyone from a bodyshop background will be able to help you with them. Shame you are not more local.
