Thanks Tony...great video! Your previous videos about the Softail Slim helped me when I was trying to decide what bike I wanted when I upgraded from my HD Street 750 last year. I'm so happy with my choice...absolutely LOVE my 2019 Slim! I added a windshield, sissy bar and saddlebags...so far. ;-)

2018 Heritage Softail. Have the engine guard also - with highway pegs that I rarely use. Dropped the bike doing about 25 mph. Engine guard scratched up. Knocked the close/lock latch out of the right side bag. Scratched up the exhaust pipes (didn’t have the bag guards for the back). Broke/dislocated/and or fractured every bone in my right foot from the arch to the toes. My foot gut crushed between the highway peg and the brake pedal. Sat on the side of the ride for one hour - and drive the bike 30 miles home. Engine guard good. Highway pegs coming off as soon as I heal enough to be able to ride again. My first Harley. My first motorcycle in 25 years. Bought myself for my own 50th birthday. In hindsight - I wish I would have bought the Slim. Then I could customise how I wanted. Would love to know where you got your sissy bar from. I got the talkest one with pad that Harley offered. Love yours compared to mine. Peace! Good video. Oh, the Slim they had at that dealership - was the baby poop mustard color. BTW - I loved that color. My Heritage is the grey/black denim paint scheme with red highlights. Love the color of mine - but still wish I’d have bought the mustard one. Also listen to 5 Dirty Biker podcast. Big fan. And just read through your other comments. My windshield has been sitting in my garage since “5 minutes after delivered”.

Hey Scott, sorry to hear about your accident. My sissy bar is actually made by Harley it is the non-detachable one not sure if they make it for the heritage. The FDB podcast has been a lot of fun thanks for listening. We are now adding a video podcast on KZbin every Wednesday. Check it out it offers some unreleased footage. Thanks again for watching and listening ride safe!

Yeah, I know what you mean regarding the windshield. I'm running '16 Street Bob, didn't want to take the looks from it, but here in central IL the bugs are horrendous for any evening rides. I also run the Sundowner seat. Discovered it back when riding my '96 Sporty 1200. Later.

I noticed you change the exhaust weren’t you’re running Rinehart slip on’s? My mine i’m doing A Stage ll and I’m done. 🤞🏼 I have a H-D Wind Splitter windshield on mine Slim and yes your right its a big difference especially a long ride!! 👍🏻 Well thanks for the video ride to safe and I’ll be looking out for a future videos..

Love all the mods. But don’t apologize for the video. Life is not edited brother and I really like the impromptu video. The shade is great and doesn’t take away from the look at all. The fatigue factor changes with a windshield as you already know. Oh and I love the black wall tires! Pure nostalgic

Tony Cox I tried the mustang last year on a demo didn’t like it at all. Wanted to try the sun downer and hammock but they don’t have that demo seat available. Did you try the hammock seat as well?
@TonysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Cole Kirschenmann No Cole I didn’t. They just had the sundowner available for demo. I tried a saddleman step up and it really wasn’t for me at all. Been pretty happy with the sundowner.
@richarddavidson1234 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony. I regretted buying the sundowner seat after I saw your earlier review of the Saddlemen Step Up. Then saw this video with the Sundowner. Love the comfort but wonder if you are having any issues with frame getting scratched underneath or worn where sundowner rolls over the side of the frame? I know this is a bit OCD but hate to mark up a brand new bike with a seat. Curious if you got any fixes. I've been looking into 3M tape to protect the frame but haven't tried anything yet. Keep up the great work!
@TonysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hay Dave, some protective tape is really the only solution I have come with so far. Very comfortable seat glad I went with it. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there.

I gave ya a thumbs up Tony and I am not only a subscriber but a 2016 Softail Slim S owner! I hate to admit it but I’m not a fan of all the mods you did to your Slim. Please understand it’s your ride and shouldn’t be concerned what the opinions are of strangers lol like myself it’s strictly my opinion! The Slim’s design is one of the very few HD stockers to have any nostalgia imbedded in her. Windshields and touring seats kinda take all that away. IMO! Love your channel and keep the content coming!
@TonysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, the seat and the windshield are for function only🤣😏. Wife needed the seat when she rides with me and the windshield is a must in cold weather in my opinion. I do agree the slim is just about perfect right off the floor. I have tried to keep my mods with that nostalgia theme in mind. The teardrop air cleaner and the bigshot exhaust I felt fit perfectly. Thanks for watch and appreciate the comment. Ride safe.
@lm4tuna04614 жыл бұрын
The air cleaner and shotgun exhaust are perfect! I actually kept the stock pipes and removed the baffles and replaced them with “Big City Thunder” cone baffles. Kept the look especially blacked out, and enhanced the sound at the same time! I’m extremely interested in the SE Billet air cleaner from HD now but SOO damn expensive! I also strapped on a “Air Hawk” seat cushion on the stock pillion and the ole lady loves it! Anyway Tony nice talking to ya and enjoy the weekend! Ciao

Like your videos Tony, i know customisation is personal, but i dont like three things on your bike, for me they don’t keep with the bobber styling, thats, windshields, 2 up seat and sissy bar, sorry man
@TonysGarage4 жыл бұрын
I agree Darren, 2 up seat is a function over looks as well as the windshield. My wife rides with me a lot so the seat was necessary. The windshield is just on for the colder weather, but it is very nice to ride with game changer on long hauls 👍. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
