Happy to help so to understand two years at the most. I would get a good battery some fresh gas and starter up. It is a it's an 05 bike so it's a carbureted bike and let it run. Let the oil cycle throw so you don't get no buildup which is called dry sumping of your motor and you will not have a true oil reading when you put oil in there. so I would take the breather off the air filter spray a little fuel in there put fresh gas in the tank and start up. The oil is gonna be low because the bikes sat and the oil sumped into your dry sump motor so don't put oil in it and keep an eye on it and then drain all the fluids, you should be in great shape. Two years is not a long time so probably wasn't two years 18 months nine months who knows it'll start right up. Just get a good battery or all else it's just a waste of time. Thank you for watching and all your support red. Ride safe and have a great day. Any questions just ask and good luck with the new ride. They're great I love Sportster.

I've now changed my chain case oil twice because I thought the oil was leaking from the drain plug and I used thread sealant both times but it turned out it was leaking from the chain inspection cover and running down the chain case cover and dripping off the plug. I installed a new chain inspection cover gasket the first time and it was a paper gasket and I've now put the original rubber gasket back in and I hope it stops the leak. I took out one quart and poured it into a empty quart bottle to make sure and added one quart back in. I changed the oil with a cold engine and was wondering if that would make a difference on not having all the old oil draining out also a seen somewhere the capacity is 28 ounces and maybe I have too much oil which is causing the leak. What are your thoughts as I hate leaks too

Two Wheel Rocco ok thanks, so any particular reason why some videos show only drain the oil by unplug the plug and others by taking the round cap off? What is the difference?
@TwoWheelRocco4 жыл бұрын
Time, Quart in quart out, done. When you remove the primary cover your bike has to be straight up or it will leak oil from primary cover when on your kick stand. Let me know what you think.

@@TwoWheelRocco I used the mobile. I tried adjusting my clutch and chain while I had it apart. When I start and go to 1st gear just sounds like it's jamming in. But I had a old Honda Elsinore man it was always trying to pull away with you just how it was. I'm not familiar enough with Harleys I don't guess. I'm going to add a video to my KZbin if anyone wants to look and tell me wht you think.

@@TwoWheelRocco ..thanks again..been checking out all your vids! I wanted to ask your opinion on something. I have a 95' Sporty 1200. What Harley calls for the full oil capacity I started getting a little oil blow back. I fill it now just slightly.. and I do mean slightly under the full mark on the dipstick and it's made a huge difference with the blow back.. hardly any at all now! Am I okay with this, are you okay with it? I'm sure that it still has a SAFE amount of oil in it! Thanks mate! \,,/
