Harley Davidson Transmission Leaking Oil (main drive gear seal)

We dove in to find a leak on this Dyna t-sport, and noticed the main drive gear seal was not making a good seal with the spacer.

Suggestion on removing the crank Nut. Do not use an impact wrench. It might crack the stater magnets.

I'm not sure if you took the effort to do it or if the recording equipment you are using did it, but I can't even express how nice it is to have the impact sounds not be 10x the volume of everything else. Great video for me to double check my work fixing a leak on my new to me FXDX.

I did mine twice and finally brought it to a mechanic. Turns out i was using the wrong seal and it was leaking on the outside of the seal. If I ever have to do it again I think I'll epoxy the outside edge

Look up “main shaft sprocket/pulley socket” on Amazon. There is one for 5 speed transmissions and one for 6 speeds. They run like $30-50

Google “inner lrimary sealed bearing” You can find fitment for your bike. They don’t make them for 06+ though
