***** i dare you to name a few MotoGeo makes nice videos but nothing that can be called a review, the only channel that has reviews as good as yours is gizmag (if i remeber correctly, they are Australian) But trust me i'm subscribed to the "best" ones, and they just can't get it right, they are either too short or don't have enough info or sincerity, or they tell you to read the verdict on their site, like anyone is gonna do that. You just keep up the good work :)

I owned a V-Rod Muscle for a few years and I LOVED it. I took some pretty long trips on it, with the optional windshield and some saddlebags. I threw Metzelers on it and holy shit, it handled so well. This thing is a rocket ship. When you and your crew are cruising at 80 mph, you can flick your wrist and DISAPPEAR in front of them. I never took my wife on it once, or any other passenger either. I ride solo. The instruments and headlight never bothered me. The Muscle model looks so much better than the plain V-Rod IMO.

Just bought a new V-Rod Muscle a couple weeks ago. My goodness, all I think about is the next time I can go riding! I owned a Street 750 as my first bike, which was great and a lot of fun. But the V-Rod oozes sexiness, power and comfort. It's a work of art! I watched Lemmy's review before buying. I haven't had the same complaints as he did with the gauges and headlights. But I understand as a journalist, he needs to find cons along with the pros.

doug ireland You sir are correct!!!! I was really surprised how complete he was, so many "reviewers" never say anything critical about the bike they're riding, like everything about every bike is just great. I'm really glad he mentioned those pegs, I saw those right away and thought how awkward that would be for me to ride because I'm only 5'9". Great job Lemmy, keep it up!!!

I really llike the way you guys review things. Your bike reviews are so much better, so much more informative and contextual than the average tit that simply straps a GoPro to his lid, goes out on a formation dealership ride, mumbles some idiotic crap into his mic, repeats himself endlessly, doesn't go round any corners and never goes above 55mph. Those style of "reviews" are legion on KZbin but your style, with real information and real impressions are rare. I also like the editing and subtle background music. Keep it up guys. Any chance of a review on the Yamaha Super Tenere? Cheers

Revzilla is by far the best source for motorcycle video reviews on KZbin and they still give more information about the product that they are reviewing on their site. I hope bigger "motorcycle reviewing channels" could learn from this. Most of them only review the bike when a new model arrives an ride it for a week or two and the next review is for the next year. They don't quite say what bike is for you and what bike they only say what the bikes lack without saying what you can do to make it better. They say that bike A has better accessories than bike B so you will choose bike A and make bike B a less viable option cause they are taking small flaws to the bike as a whole to not buy it.

This was stellar. As nearly everyone else has mentioned, one of the best bike reviews I've seen. Not only was your delivery and knowledge impeccable but the filming was fantastic! I'm not at all a Harley guy but your enthusiasm really warmed me to the idea of a v-rod. Lastly I have to say; I love Anthony and his cool guy smoothness (Dude has some serious charisma) but Lemmy, you keep this up and he's gonna be fighting for his fan base. ;) This was rock solid, relatable and freakin' fun as hell. I can't wait for the next one!!

Well, this bike has been on my radar for years. I've been a sportbike rider since ever being licensed, but the look of the V-Rod struck me in some kind of way. This review was great, and today I went out to finally test ride the Muscle. Dammit, I brought it home with me. Power is good, and I'm 6' even, and I was very comfortable on it. I'm going to have to take a week or so to get used to those forward pegs, but when my feet do finally find them, it's a nice fit. Thanks for your insights. It gave me a good starting point on what to expect.

I have owned Harley Davidson motorcycles starting with a new 80/80 Wideglide then a Heritage Softail and then a V-Rod, Night Rod.The V-Rod was the best bike that I have owned and the fact that the Motor Company has deleted the V-Rod range from its line up has pissed me off no end.I fitted mid mount foot pegs and the bike was ideal for every occasion. But now due to my old age and having the privilege to ride withdrawn due to health problems my Night Rod is the last motorcycle that I will ever own and I am so fucking heartbroken about that, added to my problem is the sheer disappointment knowing that 2017 was the V-Rods swansong year. What a bad move discontinuing the build of such a brilliant motorcycle and in my opinion Harley will wait a long long time to equal it.

I own a 2013 Night Rod special 1. When riding a bike with that much power you shouldn't even worry about glaring at the speedo. If you love life. 2. If you are tall the pegs are fine 3. Because of the rake you need to learn to turn in sooner at low speeds. 4. Professionals turn with their body weight. Not just arms or just hips 5. Turn as you would with a sport bike. It'll put a smile on your face. 6. This is a solo bike. With some squat exercises the girls will be fine. 7. Headlight is fine. You could adjust the light a little higher (easy) or go with a day maker. 8. Vrod looks better without the rear pegs 9. This bike really sticks 10. Best motorcycle I've ever owned. It's true this motorcycle needs a little getting used to when turning in low speeds but when achieved it's a blast in corners. It's a sling shot from a full stop. First motorcycle to make me dizzy from take off. I've had motocross, sport, and cruisers. Most fun bike I've ever owned along with the Sv 650 buts looks Waaaaaay better. Will never sell this beast.

Really great review. I own a Muscle and love it. Thank you for the honest assessment. Not your typical Harley but I like being different. I do not understand that you could not put more fuel at fill up. It does hold 5 gallons , but the fuel gage is not accurate as most vrodders use the odometer.

I ride a Harley Davidson Rocker C around the beautiful island of Cyprus! Which also has a 240 rear Tyre and forward pegs! I'm only five feet five and find the handling on the bike the same as this V-Rod, rock solid! I have lowered the seat and changed the bars to improve the ride. I did go look at a earlier V-Rod 2003 Anniversary model with the smaller tank, frame, engine and rear Tyre to buy as a second bike but the offer I put in on the bike was not accepted! Another great honest review keep them coming!

I bought one 6 months ago and LOVE it more than my sportbikes. BUT the biggest downfall is the gas guage. It will tell me it's on E but I fill up and it only takes 3Gal. I did run it down to where it took 4.6 once. Fix the gas gauge and it would be pretty much golden! It's such a tease and well known issue.

I test rode one of these new ones recently... I love this bike. One of the reasons is that the footpegs are forward so my large frame fits it. The other is that there is so little in front of you when you are screaming down the road that it literally feels like you are flying without a bike... just flying. What a cool bike. Not for everybody, and it has very similar technology as the V65 magna had many years ago... and is about the same horsepower and speed... but this one is a Harley, made in America and absolutely beautiful.

Bought a new '16 Muscle back in June. I absolutely LOVE the bike. Rock solid, head turner, faster than necessary! V Rod is the best bike ever made by H-D in my opinion. So needless to say I'm devastated that H-D is discontinuing V-Rod after next month (Oct. 2016). I know in a few years or so when I want a new and/or improved one, they won't be there :(.

I call the V Rod "the Thinking Man's Harley". I'm certainly atypical of their customer base - AGATT, stock pipes, wave to everybody, ride with Honda guys, etc. Now that HD has discontinued the V Rod (and Revolution engine), this will be my first and last Harley. Their 45 degree V Twin engines are antediluvian in my opinion.

I totally agree. On top of it it was a great evolution, for Harley - in my view - in the sense that instead of building new bikes looking like the ones they built 50 yrs ago, on mechanics that were not that greatly upgraded, they finally had released a new modern bike with performance, awesome designs that still was totally a Harley and had an unparalleled image. A bit sad. I hope they come up with a new version in a year or so with more HP and bader meaner looks.

Harley spent 6 years designing V-Rod. They pioneered many engineering design changes away from conventional Harleys. Hydro-forming a one piece frame for ecstatic appearance & strength , placing the radiator in a highly efficient location as part of the package to allow the air Cooled engine to last 100K Miles+ is a first!

Best Harley ever built. I have to agree about Harleys, I had a 96ci fatboy and the was slow for everything, heavy and steady, I love that the Fatboy feels like a tank, this bike has double horse power and torque with a smaller engine, this thing has the reaction no other Harley has, fun to ride, in top gear you push and go, good looking bike, Porsche changed the classic Harley V 45 degrees into a V 60 degrees engine, double cam each head and 4 valves per cylinder, water cooled. Im 6,4 and the controls are perfectly fine for me, I only changed the pegs for bigger ones. Controls are forward yes probably short people get in some weird "C" shape position but if you are tall you are fine.

That is a great review, full of terrific information and an honest and analysis of this awesome bike. Harley has no idea what they're doing obviously because they discontinued this monster, this is the Best of the Best of the Harley Davidsons. Instead of just canceling the V-Rod, they should have expanded the range to include sportier bikes and maybe even a more custom chopper-like bike with this engine. This engine is awesome, a regular Harley engine is equivalent to a lawn mower. Thank you for a fantastic review, I wish you could review every motorcycle because you do such a great job at it.

Great video-review. I test-rode a V-Rod in 2010. Too expensive for me. Beautiful to look at. Comfortable ride. The handling/turning/cornering felt off to me. More work to push it in the direction I wanted to go than it should have been. I thought the gas tank under the seat was weird, but I guess you get used to that. Never considered the lighting as I only rode it in daylight. I thought it was under-powered at the time, but I guess I wasn't on the Muscle version. I love that H-D made a bike that doesn't vibrate you out of your shoes and incorporated some newer tech & design to appeal to a different/younger market. In the end I got more bang for the buck from Honda.

***** It was new at the time, either 09 or 10. Price tag in the $15k range. It was very well balanced and performed very well in a straight line. I was unimpressed with acceleration from a stop and the difficulty in turns. It seemed to be designed for high end torque. I preferred the performance of the Fat Bob at the time, but not the overbearing vibrations. I went with the Honda VTX 1800F, and I love it. Bigger, More Power, Better Acceleration, Better Handling, Also Very Well Balanced, Much Lower Price. :-)

***** You didn't just say you were laughing at my bike, did you? ;-) Yeah, the VTX1800 does 0-80 in 'how the hell did I get here so quickly'. I often find myself trying to shift into a 6th gear that doesn't exist. You're right, it never feels like you're going as fast as you are because the bike is so stable. If VRODs aren't holding their value in the used market as well as other H-Ds, it's probably because they aren't what traditional H-D riders are looking for. VROD just doesn't fit the same H-D image. Lower demand + Cheaper competition.

Just wanted to say that the headlight issue was, atleast for me, a positioning issue. It is easy to setup wrong. When I got mine the light was looking pretty much right at the ground and I could only see 5 car lengths ahead of me with the regular lighting and 8-9 with the high's but I kind of got frustrated with the light and smacked it and realized that it is basically a vertical swivel between just 2 screws one on either side. once I corrected the positioning of the head light itself i could see the entire road ahead of me.

ANother good review. Not ridden the muscle but have ridden a Nightrod and agree with everything, even the mid pegs. What pissed my missus off most was she (at 4'10' and 25'' inside leg) could ride the night rod, if it weren't for those ridiculosuly far away pegs. Di d try a street rod a few years back, now that had the mid pegs and a more street orinatted position, only problem was it also had a higher seat which I think upset the balance a bit. Nice bike though.

Great review. I'm sure many of us want to see similar reviews on the other mentioned muscle cruisers. Coming from a sportblike rider it would be nice to have a muscle cruiser for long rides.

Just an FYI -- you filled up at a blender pump. One hose, multiple octane levels. But the hose and assorted plumbing can carry up to about 4 gallons of whatever the previous customer pumped. So while you paid for the expensive stuff, you probably got mostly swill. Look for a station with multiple hoses. Around here (NM) some Valero stations have dedicated lines.

Now this is what an excellent bike review looks like! Great job Lemmy and Revzilla! I'm the first to admit that Harleys aren't my thing, but after watching the video I would totally consider a V-Rod. Also I have to agree on the footpeg placement and the quality of them. For the price they are asking, better and more functional ones should be standard not aftermarket.

Kudos to you and the production crew! Excellent review, shoot and edit, really digging the style (coming from a fellow editor). Looking forward to a Street 750 review, specially different exhausts, only because I'm in the market for one for my new Street ;) Keep up the great work! Hopefully one day I can join the team and have fun (I mean work) like this.

Hey older video I know. But just wanted to say I have been watching a lot of motorcycle review vids lately since getting back into the hobby. Looking at a VRod or NightRod for the spring. This is a great video and I'm glad I found your channel. This is top notch and informative. Very professional. Thank you. Subbed.

One thing you forgot to mention is that the VRod Muscle was co-designed by Porsche. You can see these design cues all over the bike. My dad has an 09 and I've put about 100-200 miles on it (both for fun and commuting) and, coming from an 04 ZX-6R, I really badly wanted to trade it in for one of these. I sold my ZX-6R a few months ago and I'm contemplating buying my dad's VRod Muscle whenever he's done with it.

The high-test fuel is a big thing for me. I run that all the time, but if you do you really have to hunt down pumps with individual lines. If you buy high-test you'll get what's in the hose and filter first. Which is garbage fuel. So 1/3rd of what you put in the tank is junk, and you're paying for good. It bugs me endlessly.

RevZilla, I've been watching few videos about bike reviews as I'm planning to buy my first Harley(options in my mind are Street750 or a BonnevilleT120{though its not Harley} or Iron 883) and I find your video very useful, pleasant, cut-the-crap straight to the points, no fancy words. Your are doing a wonderful job mate, keep going and Goodluck... I would be happy to hear from you which among my above options you would choose. {For me it's gonna be my daily commute medium of prestige}. Thank you for your time. I do really appreciate your videos. All the best....

For me, in terms of looks I never really liked the V-Rod range, although bike builders all over the world have created some beautiful customs over the years. In the Australian bike magazine Live to Ride, for a while it seemed like every other issue featured some spectacular V-Rod custom on the cover. Look for the covers for issues 364, 340, 309 if you'd like to see some examples.
