I think comparing harley 440x with speed 400 is like comparing apple to orange. Harley 440x is in RE league whereas speed400 is in ktm and pulsar league. For long touring Harley will be better and for short bursts speed 400 will be good. I guess RE will face heat from harley, not from triumph.

Even without seeing both these bikes in flesh, here is what I will say: Both the bikes are totally opposite character wise, Ts 400 is a sporty looking fast motorcycle, whereas HDX440 is more relaxed and easy going type; Speed 400 is more towards speed whereas the HD is towards toque oriented at even low speed. The paint job in S400 is more peppy like reds, blues whereas X440 is having more grey shades. The finish looks more catchy with S400 and this is due to the color choices. The Greg will always look less catchy. Personally I would choose the X440.

I think the harley x440 has traction control, if you see their launch event video (39:00) it shows the TC icon which i think means traction control on the speedometer.

Harley X440 alloy wheels version costs 2.49 lacs ex showroom.. Triumph Speed 400 costs 2.33 lacs.. So Triumph is cheaper than Harley!

Yes. Good price gap. The top Harley is about 35k expensive. Like explained, we believe both the motorcycles will have pretty different crowd to appeal

I love the triumph even my alltime fav speed twin 1200 and thruxton R1200 but now i don't know why i felt to go for harley because of low and mid end Torque... Every one just see the number 40ps and 27ps no one talk about the torque ... Yah the triumph is powerfull for mid and high ... Only rider who no what is low end and mid torque feel don't wanna go for High rev engine .. Thats why re is famous for ... I feel harley is going to give tough competition to re 😊

Well pointed. Harley X440 is meant to be ridden fast, zippy and cut corners. It’s a comfortable cruiser with neo-retro looks that has good torque, very usable for long distance riding

Nice review.. I hope Hero/HD folks work on making the ownership experience World class for the HD. As much as I love cruising on neo retro bikes somehow most from the RE stable never appealed to me so far. Hope HD fills the void and launches even better bikes so I can upgrade in the future from this XD440! Cheers!!

Im going to buy triumph , it will be my first bike Reasons - i dnt like harley how it looks , seen many vdos not impressed with built quality as well , conparatively triumph is better Ive riden himalayan and duke 250 and many other , i always liked dominar and duke but wanted something in between , not too bulky yet not too sporty and costly , triumph is jst perfect for me as im someone who has a bit of aggressive riding style and i need the punch when i need to overtake , otherwise it gets boring for me Plus full crusing bike design ive never liked anyways So all in all Triumph is light , better handling ,nimble , better looking , even tho harley has 24bhp and 38nm torque triumph has 40bhp and 37.5nm and is alsmost 15km lighter so it wod make hell of a difference Plus all those extra features Ride by wire Sleeper clutch Upside down forks Traction control Plus instead of paying 25k extra than triumph jst for the x440s variant the matt black one , people shod look for upcoming scrambler or himalayan 450 , Nothing against harley bt if its bad or not for u than does not matter wat brand it is

Great choice I'm also getting Speed 400 red colour. You should see the Harley in person if you think it looks bad. I think it's a good bike but due to Triumph's pricing (which is bonkers) the x440 will be rejected by many riders. Don't make decisions by just watching KZbin video go and take test rides of all the bikes that you like then buy one, don't waste your hard earned money.

Harley looks better for me, love the roadster look on it. While Triumph speed looks just like any other bike even with that golden usd. I'd go for HD440x just for looks.

I agree that the HD x440 looks good because of its dimensions but that doesn't make the Speed a basic looking bike with USD forks. It looks like it's elder siblings like the street twin. Try checking it out on a showroom it might change your opinion.

Trident looks ugly to many of us same way Triumph 400 looks ugly to you. It appeals to retro style. For example Honda sells 1100cc bike called CB1100 which will look like splendor to you but to me and internationally it looks really beautiful.
