The cam shims should be kept with their respective cams and noted whether they were front (cover side) or back (case side). They are used to set the endplay for the cams once the cover is fastened. For reference, I like knowing what they were and what the endplays were before rebuild. You will have to redo the endplays with shims and checking through the tappet holes in the case with feeler gauges on reassembly.

How many miles were showing on the speedometer? Those cam bushings looked pretty good on camera, you going to completely refresh the engine or if in tolerance leaving alone. Very nice videos like your process of work. Will keep looking for more.

I believe it was something like 52,000 miles so not that much for how old it is. I was so relieved that the bushings were good too! The cams to bushings seems to be in spec so I think I’ll be able to leave them alone. Makes everything else so much easier.
