this customer wanted a stock rebuilt motor that he could ride down the road reliably but still look unrestored on the outside. all new on the inside but old and dirty on the outside for an unrestored look on his original 1943 bike.

Tatro Just a thought the bored and threaded pinion shaft by any chance do you think Jim's did it to use his puller/installer so you don't beat the pinion gear on. If I'm not mistaken it's the same design as Harley's puller installer... You could have used a piece of running thread a nut and a socket to draw the gear on...

I need to replace the cam cover seal ring cover. it's cracked. I don't know and can't find a video on how to remove the 2 posts that it slides on and installing the new ones. any help tatro would be greatly appreciated.

@@TatroMachine I'm talking about that thing in the cam cover that the generator end gear seams to be touching when the cam cover is on the crankcase. It's supposed to slide on these 2 little posts because it has a spring behind. It's not moving on these 2 posts. It's jamming on them.

@@TatroMachine I heat them post up a bit and twist pulled them out. I have a buddy machinist who's going to make me some new post and I'm going to locktight them in place. It needed a new spring anyway as the old one had no more sring to it. Thanks for your reply
