So the 88” road king motor and trans is a detect fit in FXR frame

A Shovelhead part will mount the old style sidestand to the two-bolt mount. Use high strength bolts. My '88 had the stock stand bend and the mount bend later so since I prefer the Jiffy stand I dug around in my leftovers and found the Shovel plate is a bolt-on to the FXR forward peg mount. I used two high strength socket head cap screws (one is hidden by the sidestand and wrenching clearance between it and sidestand is best with a socket head bolt) and red Loctite. No problems over a few years use including kickstarting now and then and I'm not kind to that bike. Those forward peg mounts are robust. If I managed to tweak one there is ample room to weld in a piece of say 3/8" plate to pick up sidestand mount holes, but I don't see that happening. Harley part info =" 49129-77, FOOTREST BRACKET, left - chrome" but other versions of that plate style exist.

I did some swapping trans and swingarms on twin cam baggers I went from 01 to a 03 trans n found out inner and outer primary stuff was different so I ended up having the 01 trans case pivot hole machined bigger to use newer swing arm

What was the actual differences with the primary was it just that bottom bolt went in the opposite way?

@@bad-foot the inner primary bolts line up with motor fine but not on transmission..the bike I was working on is a 01 n thg he trans I wanted to swap in was o3 .so when th ed primary didn't bolt I got a 03 primary and then the 01 outer primary didn't fit the 03 inner look story short i wantedto use all factory parts no after market kits I just had 01 case machined bigger for pivot shaft and everything bolted together

@@bad-foot later on I found out bagger inner primary are the same from 95-01 as well as outer primary.

Check the True Track swing arm repair kit on their page (all ya get is a thumbnail view so look close) but instead of buying it, grind the end of a 3/4" reamer down (your local machine shop can do this on their tool and cutter grinder) to 5/8" like their piece and if you don't have a large drill, reduce the shank. Then do what this guy kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIO3p4Wkm7eFoLM did minus the bearings. True Track doesn't clearly show their piloted reamer (the correct term) for obvious reasons but any machinist recognizes it as a modified ordinary chucking reamer. It's also not hard to bore a complete transmission on a milling machine. A plate drilled to bolt the gearbox to a common machinists angle plate is all ya need and one plate could do both Twin Cam and Evo bagger and FXR boxes. If you want to repair worn bores just size your reamer OD to the OD of your desired bushings minus the interference fit.

I have an 01 FLHRCI Road king that got rear ended and destroyed the swing arm wheel fender and tire. I found out the swing arm is a one or two year only swing arm. It is hard to find and everyone I have found they want my next born male child for. I can buy an entire 2002 frame used with a clean bill of sale for the cost of some of these 01 swing arms part (no# 47549-00) Any suggestions. I was even looking for a rigid frame this motor and transmission will fit in.

You can get the 02 swingarm brake and rear wheel and upgrade everything or get I think it's a 96 to 99 swingarm and either weld a bracket on for your 4 piston caliper or get the early caliper with the swingarm and then they would just be a bolt on

@@bad-foot Thanks I am an old Panhead Shovelhead guy and I don't know these twin cams. After I started looking for parts I was sorry I bought it.

@@bad-foot You have a part number for the 2002 swing arm upgrade. that sounds like the best way to go I most likely have a brake caliper for it.
