I love both the Indian and Bolt but given a choice it would have to be the Yamaha Blot hands down. Just pissed I can't enter the competition. If I could I would pay the freight to New Zealand in a flash. A 55 year old rocking a Hyosung GT 250 does not inspire anyone to take up riding but any of the 3 up for grabs are head turners and works of art anyone would be happy throwing a leg over. Keep up the great work, been following awhile now but never commented before , Ka kite Peter from NZ

Nice numbers. Biggest gain on the iron is no surprise given all the work compared to just a stage 1 on the other 2 bikes. That iron should kick you in the ass solid with all that torque. Kinda curious why you didn't use the same dyno to test all 3 bikes? Not that it should make that much different with engines that small.

So this time you took a 883cc and stage4 it to a 1200cc hooligan kit right? So could you get a stage4 a 1200 with the same relative displacement increase like the 883? See it if it's worth starting out with the 883 or 1200 and finally put the nail in that. Especially because you just proved the have to pay $250 per hp over stack and all for the gain of 10hp across the bored.
@BlockheadMoto3 жыл бұрын
Iron went from stage 1 883 to stage 4 S&S 1200. Not sure if you could get the same numbers starting w a stock 1200 and doing a tune and cams, would be an interesting experiment to see though. The Bolt and Indian got about 10hp w Stage 1, which is prob more around ~$100/hp (exhaust / tuner / intake)
@mrvwbug44233 жыл бұрын
The answer almost sounds like "wait for Sportster S" which should smoke all these right out of the box. I'm sure Block could give a more accurate assessment as he's ridden the Sporty S.

@@mrvwbug4423 Sporty S is fast, and stock will be faster than all of these bikes in the video. Sporty S stock though won’t be faster than a 1275 120+hp Hammer kit. Although I doubt it’ll take much to get it faster than the Hammer kit once aftermarket starts making parts for the Sporty S

two of the same bike, differing motors, first has 72hp @ 72lbft the second has 72hp @ 36lbft... Is one actually faster then the other? ... smoother
@mrvwbug44233 жыл бұрын
Too many variables to say for sure. Depends on the bike, gearing, weight, etc. the first motor would be akin to the stage 4 1200 conversion on their sportster, the second would be akin to a 400cc 4 cylinder sport bike motor. the big heavy twin in a smallish sportbike chassis is not going to work very well, same with the 400cc screamer in a cruiser chassis.

@tricd04443 жыл бұрын
I've said this on every Bolt video that I've watched, but I REALLY hope that the winner does the Ivan's tune. Anyone that owns a Bolt and does modifications to it should know that the biggest improvement you can do to the bike is Ivan's Performance tune. With a different exhaust, you might gain a touch more power, but still within dyno variability. With his slip on on his dyno, he dynos at 60hp wheel. He also does a bunch of ridability upgrades, with removing the throttle cut on closed throttle, removing 99% of the off throttle popping, and vastly improving throttle response. In addition, with another plug, dressup.motorcycles is putting together a high compresion and cam kit that, at the high end, should put the bike at roughly 70hp to the wheel, putting it much closer to the other bikes. I really feel like it's the bike to get for someone that likes wrenching on their own bike, and doesn't like the slightly more prohibitive entry cost of the Indian and the Harley. Although, I am rather biased, being a Bolt owner myself. I don't see myself ever getting rid of this bike, I LOVE it. All that being said, the Harley is wild, and that Scout is absolutely bonkers for an 'entry level' cruiser. 10/10 for all of them, wonderful job putting the bikes together!

I'd like to see the numbers of the scout vs the numbers of a Sportster S vs the 202something base revolution Sportster they teased in the sportster S release video. I think I heard the new base sportster will have a 900 revolution motor. Obviously a future video, and without the scout actually in it, but I'd love to see them dyno the new sportsters someday just for a numbers comparison.

@@BlockheadMoto Ivan can tune for any components, and it's a stand alone flash as opposed to piggy back system. Fueling, shifting, decel, rpm, timing, etc... He addresses everything, and is highly known as THE best tuning option for most metric cruisers. Far better than dynojet. Also, isn't all about peak numbers, the feel is greatly improved in every aspect.
@TheDankh3 жыл бұрын
@@BlockheadMoto And just to be specific, Ivan's Bolt turned out 61.1 hp and 65.1 tq all the way up to 7200 rpm (1200 rpm's more than the dynojet) which is MASSIVE, so nearly +6 hp and +4 tq over the dynojet, with much better characteristics everywhere else due to being able to control ignition timing, throttle tables, idle, rpm, fan control, etc.. timing + fueling = much broader useable power, too (usually).
