I have a m8 107 with a stage ll and after 3 years & 60000 miles, my stock shit box transmission went to hell. It's my opinion that we (USA) should build our own bikes again instead of letting foreign entities ruin a good design by using bogus materials.

So I got a '19 RKS with a stage 2. I bought it 1 year old slightly used. I did my 2nd oil change on the trans before winter storage- both time I got a lot of metal stuck on the plug. Overall the bike runs great... figured I'll wait until total failure before fixing since it's out of warranty.

Doesn't matter if it's a bike or a cage. You can't do serious upgrades to your engine without making sure your transmission can handle the power. I've seen plenty of guys that have done only the engine and ended up having to replace the transmission for the same reason you have there. Baker has been a go to for plenty of builds I've seen. From everything I've seen your engine will die before your left on the road side with a baker. Once again congratulations on the shop guys.

You'd be better off just building your own motorcycle and spec'ing it the way you want it instead of buying one for 25k-30k only to end up having to upgrade everything. That's what I'd do if I was going to try to get more power out of the mill.

Nice to have all this neat stuff available over-the-counter nowadays. Back in my day ( I'm older than dirt and still riding a kickstart panhead) when we were building strokers, we were taking Flathead 80" fly wheels, modifying and putting them in 74" Panheads to build strokers. You couldn't buy it, you had scrounge it and make it work. We made our own stroker plates. We did our own scraper plates in the cases too so you wouldn't over oil especially the rear cylinder as Flathead 80" flywheels were slightly smaller then the standard 74" flywheels. There wasn't a lot you could do transmission wise though. Basically we'd just swap out the drum top for a ratchet top if you can get your hands on one.

Straight cut gears will add strength but will definitely make more noise. Gear ⚙️ whine is sometimes nice if it's not overwhelming. It adds to the character of the machine. I would love to know if there is a discernable sound difference between the Baker and stock H-D out on the highway.

The Performance Machine Roulette wheels I had at one point also had no cush drive. One thing you learn from rideing various performance motorcycles is all V-Twins eat cush drives, compensators, chains/sprokets, and tires. But then, that is how you get traction and phenomenal rear wheel control, even down a loose dirt flat track, no need for trac. cont.. Nothing beats two 45° offset common crank, pushing 2 out of 4 long strokes.

17 street glide, on my second 131. 1st one dropped a valve and destroyed it in under 2500miles, $50 later ESP put a crate motor in and still running 20,000miles with dark horse motor sprocket and SE clutch pack. Thunder Max tuner running 146/141. It's not a dragster but feels like a good compromise with still wanting to ride it cross country. Hello Gentlemen, I enjoyed the video but I appreciate the info so much more. As an old school rider/wrench, I do not work on modern bikes! One question I always get; " why do I get a CLUNK in my lower gear shifting?". I tell most modern bike owners that they are shifting too soon, third gear before you clear the intersection at 15MPH?????? I want to call them MORONs but I do try to be nice. At 13 almost 14 I picked up my uncle's 47 Indian Chief and my cousin taught me to ride. I love older bikes even with only four gears/speeds! Seeing that Darley Havidson has dampened the rear sprocket and now (Thank You) put a "cam" to soften the drive on the chain, we shouldn't have so much tranny damage. But everyone wants MORE POWER??? Your shop looks too clean and fantastic at the same time. Please keep up the great work. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
