I freakin LOOOVE King Shark in this show. His design is so cuddly and he is so friendly to everyone. And Ron Funches is PERFECT as him. I really hope they make King Shark in The Suicide Squad like this one. Apparently in live action he is being played by Steve Aggee but the rumor is he is being voiced by Taika Watiti, so I hope they give him the thickest kiwi accent in film history.

This isn't intentionally a jab, but Eric not nitpicking the show is making me really enjoy these reactions. I want the channel to stay genuine and that means not always liking someones opinion; I'm just happy that he enjoys the show as much as I do, since it doesn't always work out that way.

There's nothing to nitpick, really. It's just a funny parody, just like Futurama. The characters are intentionally portrayed as their most absurd versions. It's not meant to be taken overly seriously. Though I admit, some episodes are very well written as serious drama.

@@bloodymares Well, for example, Eric had problems with My Hero Academia for things like Deku's gloves being big or in Code Geass for the average character being thin, subjective things like that. When he finds something he dislikes he'll tend to bring it up multiple times; he's entitled to his opinion, but that doesn't stop it from bumming me out a little. I came into this series thinking about the possible things he might not like, Harley's pale skin or Ivy's leaf pants, but it's all sunshine and rainbows so far.

@@RynKen Well, in regards to this context, both those things have in-universe explanations. Harley's skin is pale because it's literally been bleached by acidic chemicals and Ivy, in this continuity, was born a Meta-human, thus her green skin and plant powers, and her plant empathy would have her wear stuff more environmentally friendly. While Midoriya's hands and Lelouch's body as purely stylistic. They look that way just because. Even if Eric had a problem with how Harley and Ivy look, there's actual reasons for why they're like that. It'd be like complaining that Batman's costume has bat ears.

I honestly kinda wish they'd just gone all in on Robin being Harley's nemesis, cause leaning fully into Damian's bratty bitch side made him absolutely HILARIOUS. Plus it kinda fits thematically too, since Harley and Robin are the scions of Joker and Batman respectively. Might be cool if they end up doing something with one of the other older Robins in Season 3. Nightwing would be a great rival character I think, considering him and Harley are both gymnasts too.

Nightwing is definitely one of my top picks for what I'd like to see in season 3 (along with more exploration of Ivy's backstory and abandonment issues (and maybe Power Girl)). I think some might complain that it feels a little cheap to have him or any of the Robins/Batgirls as Harley's nemesis, as they'd still be letting themselves be defined by their relationships with Batman and Joker and that they're being enemies just because the big characters they're connected to are enemies. But honestly that could make for a fun story. Kind of like how the joke in this episode is that archenemies are like lovers or hook-ups, S3 could have Nightwing and Harley fight each other a few times and really hit it off, really enjoying foiling each other's plans and plots, but they don't want to fully commit to being nemeses yet, as they don't what to feel like they're still in Batman and Joker's shadows. They don't want to be destiny's puppets and just go with what's been arranged for them. They want to be free to chose who they fight. But in the end, they can't deny the feelings of hate and comeuppance the other gives them. It doesn't matter if it's what destiny wants because it's what they want too! One finally takes the next step and asks the other to be their nemesis for the rest of their lives. And then they kick the shit out of each other. And maybe Deathstroke shows up at some point. "What the f**k, Grayson?!"

Aros001 I am absolutely in love with the bitter-but-casual frenemies idea for Harley and Nightwing. Like some nights they’re foiling each other’s plans, and some nights they have a Netflix Watchparty or something. Honestly, I really hope Season 3 goes back to the more typical day-to-day comicbook style stories. I liked Season 2, but I honestly felt like the plot was a bit needlessly ambitious and grandiose at times.

@@aros0018 I think it'd work as long as they dealt with that part of it from the start; like, if Nightwing and Harley end up coming into conflict accidentally again and again, getting more pissed off every time because it's so cliche, but then getting some mutual respect that neither are defined by Batman/Joker anymore and becoming proper rivals. It'd be a really tricky tightrope to walk though... pun unintended but a pleasant suprise?
