I put over 25K on my Burgman in the first year I had it and would attest to it being better at being an all around fully capable road bike suitable for long trips or commuting to work and the store. When you ride long distance on one some people seem surprised but for those who have ridden one, it works and works well. Given the size/weight and ability to get into triple digits just about any time you desire, I shy away from calling it a scooter. It's a motorcycle. Comparing it to anything in the HD line does not make sense. It is a different type of motorcycle. Nothing more or less. And to quote Sean here "it is not what you ride but where you are going". If you can ride one of these and it works for you, just get on and twist it and go. The hardest part is checking that ego before you climb on. Get past that and you will be happy on your Burgman.

I just traded in my 2005 yamaha V-Star 1100 for a new 2020 Suzuki Burgman 400 and I Love 💘 it so far...75 miles on her so far

I've had around 30 motorcycles in my 30 years on earth. Everything from a cbr600rr to a Honda shadow. And a dozen or so dirt bikes. I had the too cool for scooter mentality until I rode the burgman 650. I only have one machine now that's the burgman. It's like a jet ski on wheels.

I have ridden 50cc, 150cc, 250cc, 400cc and 650cc scooters. I have nothing but love for scooters, and it is THE perfect gateway drug of bikes.

The Bergman 650 is twice the bike the Harley 883 is sorry but that’s the truth. I put on over 100,000 miles on one and all I ever did was change tires. Never even did the brakes. It was amazing I got just over 60 miles a gallon.

Yeah my grandpa has a burgman 400 and he never ever put oil in it. He gave it to me with 30kish miles on it( it was literally bone dry when I got it) after a hard time changing the oil(the oil filter bolt seized up) it runs pretty good still 36k and counting.

What? 100,000 miles and you didn’t need a drive belt? Sorry, but so many scooter riders and buyers are subscribing to the “broken belt” myth, you’d think when you drive down any road in America, you’re running over 650 Burgman drive belts 😂 To hear some of these people talk, you roll outta the showroom, then have to pay $2,500 for a new drive belt. I ride with two other 650 Burgman guys, ones got 66k on his, and the other 80k+, and neither had broken a drive belt. I have to wonder how many potential maxi scooter buyers were conned into buying a Kymco, because of this nothing burger rumor.

A scooter is much better for beginners, separating the cornering and braking from learning to use the clutch and shifting. Also, this big scooter is MUCH more comfortable to ride than a Sportster for 10 hours a day, especially Sportsters before 2003 that vibrate more. An old 500cc Kawasaki makes more sense than both of these as a second bike, or a 600cc Honda Shadow VLX for 60 mph roads.

I've had many bikes in the past 40 years and if you're looking for a touring bike, the Burgman is the way to go. I've done two 3000 mile trips and some shorter ones on my Burgman and it just cannot be beat for dependability, comfort, storage and power. It's as close to the perfect touring bike I've ever had.

Just bought a burgman. It’s my first bike and the deal was to good to pass up. I figure it’ll be great for running around town and learn to ride. Couple of years down the road I’ll pick up a Africa twin or VStrom.

I rode one of the barbecue Last Summer, I expected to hate it and think it was stupid. I almost didn't want to bring it back. It was actually pretty decent has a ride. And as long as you wear full-face helmet nobody will know who you are. LOL

The Burgman is Not the Big Scooter, the Aprilia 850 same as Gilera GP 800 are the big scooter

Here in America 🇺🇸 the 150 cc and larger scooters are considered Maxi Scooter and you need a Motorcycle endorsement to ride them Legally.....

It's absolutely nothing like that at all. There are even 50cc scooters that are pretty decent rides, even if they do no more then 35( even with a big bore kit, no more than 45)...motorized bicycles can't get that. The only reason people try to discount scooters, is due to them being automatic...and the step through design. Yamaha Majesty 400 and Suzuki Burgman 400s can probably burn any 320 or 400 motorcycle.
