Been battling Cancer for three years. Couldn’t ride my Ducati anymore due to pain / riding position and when I got some better news from Hospital, bought a RE Himalayan, which I could manage about an hour on (no “padding” due to 30% weight loss). Recently had a bad low speed accident, numerous broken bones but not a single scratch on the bike - sacrificial protection bars. Then the Oncologist gave me some more bad news and the first thing he said was “get back on that bike”. He rated the benefit from even short rides to be equal to Chemo (well, almost). Positive outlook, keep doing what you enjoy, appreciate family and mates - you never know when you’ll have to hang up your boots.

Over 50 years ago I incorporated motorcycles to be a part of my everyday life, by using them for everything, rain, snow, ice, summers heat, traffic, day, night, etc.. im 72 and do a daily commute of 100 miles a day. In the last couple of years, I've stopped taking so many chances. I know I've really pushed my luck over the years. Im on a Sportster these days and really enjoy my daily commute. I even earned the BMW 500,000 mile award and gave them up in order to get back to basics on the Sportster.

Impressive, I used to know a guy that vridet the same thing here in Sweden. He would even drive in the winter incorporating attachable skies on the side of the motor. He never owned a car. Unfortunately he drank himself to the other side.

@magnusb6311 I actually made up a set of skis to put on my last BMW. I met a BMW engineer who was traveling with some company representatives and stopped at our local dealer for a day. At the time, I had a BMW F800GT. He said absolute do not drill holes the frame. It was built to minimums in order to save weight, strong for the purpose for what was intended for, but would not tolerate any modifications. I'm an aircraft structural mechanic and always have a better idea. :-)

I absolutely agree with you. I use to work in Intensive Care, left after 16 years. Then l went through the grieving process of leaving my profession. And l was just existing, stacked on so much weight, and felt broken. Fast forward today, lost 30 kilos, working on a farm, discovered motorbikes, and have my full licence (with restrictions, for a week now) and taking on challenges everyday. I am finally happy. In the work I do, I ask this question to my clients and also what is their passion and what do they do to bring meaning to their lives. I find this is quit hard for a lot of people and our society is making it much harder with all the political and world distractions we didn't have 50 years ago. ( I am 65). I learned a lot from even things like taking my dog to the dog park and seeing animal playing and having fun with just being alive and enjoying life itself. I basically came to the conclusion that the meaning or life, is to enjoy life itself, finding a way to benefit others, and to pursue passions that don't hurt others. Most people have lost the objectivity that to wake up each morning with a consciousness and realization that we are self aware of life is such a blessing. I find it sad that are getting away from the teachings in school and society the provide us with understanding just how incredible the journey of how we got here is. Great video to make you think.

Like this video,as I didn't want to be the retired guy that sits on the front porch saying I wish I would have done that. Life is not a trial run, no do overs. Our life compared to eternity in the dirt nap is but a blink of the eye. I never pass up on a chance to have fun,as you can never have to much fun. I do whatever makes me happy, I separate myself from people with bitterness and I am so depressed type of people. I don't let them suck the life out of me. I seek out positive people, I ride my Harley every chance I get as I'm 68 and I know my riding days ahead are less than the number behind me. When I get to the end of my life, I want to leave this world with a completely worn out body from having the time of my life and say to St.Peter at the pearly gates you should have been with me man what a ride. A friend of mine read a book about the meaning of life and when he finished I asked him if he found out what the meaning of life is, he said #4, not sure what that means but I said you might want to go easier on what ever you are taking.lol. While I enjoy riding my bike, it’s just part of the enjoyment my life. Something I do while the important stuff goes on around me. First time I passed my sell by date was over 25 years ago. What’s important? What would I miss? For me, it was seeing my kids grow up. They turned out ok. Im still here. I came close to the end again, I was ok, I spent time with good people. I’m still going. Not Dead Yet. What’s the meaning of life. The people you bring with you.

I think the meaning of life is to NOT GIVE UP. life is a challenge, for some more than others, but you shouldn’t give up on your goals or aspirations. For some it’s whether to buy another business or purchase the latest luxury car, for others it might just be whether it’s worth getting out of bed in the morning. No matter how big or small, make it your goal and work on it. If it just isn’t feasible, don’t give up, modify/change your goal and keep working at it.

I bought my first new bike at age 13, traded up at age 15 and have owned many other new and used bikes since. Now at 67 3/4 I don't own a street bike (do have dirt bike and ATV) due to too short of riding season where I live and questionable road conditions. However, I travel and rent a Street Glide in areas where the conditions are good a couple times a year and that's when I live life on my terms. If I truly wanted to max out on living, I'd have to move to the sun belt buy a new Streetie and ride every day - food for thought.

Hey there - just won a '23 Harley Softail Standard in a charity raffle. I've owned multiple bikes: Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph. I was one of those guys who thought that Harley's weren't worth the money, the riders were all posers, and that the bikes were unreliable. Anyway, one ride on the Softail, and I'm hooked and stoked! The torque is incredible, and she generates more power than I'll ever realistically need. At 52, I'm no longer carving the canyons, but I'm having more fun than ever on two wheels!

I’m reminded of the story of the man who spent years searching for the meaning of life. Finally he heard about a guru in Tibet who had the secret. He flew to Tibet, hired a Sherpa and climbed to the top of the mountain. There he found the guru and asked the ultimate question. “What is the meaning of life?” The guru responded “Life is a fountain” “WHAT??? I have searched for years, spent a fortune, climbed this damned mountain and you tell me “Life is a fountain”! What the hell is that supposed to mean???” The guru responds “Life isn’t a fountain?” 😂 I did like the one guy’s comment to treat people like you want to be treated. The Golden Rule predates any of today’s religions and philosophies. I found a better version, called the Platinum Rule. Treat people the way THEY want to be treated. They may not want to be treated the way you do.

Man i realy love your vids!!!! I can tell you i live my life the best i can. Ofcourse i lose a lot of precious time on things that need to be done. You know,... vacumcleaning and washing stuff, dishes, even some windows.. dealing a lot with traffic that is more bussy with watching their phones and gadgets behind the wheel and so on. Agression on the streets and a wonderfull divorce war 🎉 so yes, i realy do spend as much time doing what i think this life is for. I love a lot of things. Number one is me, than my lovely wife who goes thrue a hard time and my kids. Got a few great hobbys. First place goes 2 my custom harley. Second is my volvo amazon station ship! And i love playing guitar and piano. Spend almost 30 years on drugs and doing stupid stuff. Been clean for 4 years now and am lucky that i am stil in good shape!! Corona was a blessing for me, it helped me see that we "the peapole" need eachother in so many ways ❤ so god bless everyone here or if you dont like religion,... bless you all 🎉 make the best of every day. Laugh, make fun and do right stuff. And dont forget to cry every now and than 😊

What I like about riding motorcycles is it makes my life fun. The meaning of life is simple. Have fun. Im 62 and still lift weights. Because I believe it makes me feel and look better. I dont know if its true. But I know i like doing it. I always see the same people in the gym. Why?
