That´s actually the worst about it all. Stock susp is normaly more or less crappy on most bikes but INDIAN does it better than HD on that particular matter.

Even more so on an expensive TOURING bike. It makes no sense. I’ve done a couple thousand miles on a road glide, and I was appalled by the lack of comfort and travel of the rear suspension. Literally any other touring bike from any other manufacturer blows HD’s away.

I put Legends Revo A on the back of my TriGlide after riding it for a couple thousand miles 2 up. I noticed immediate improvement as did my wife. Now to do the fronts. I recommend everyone look into these aftermarket suspensions after riding stock for a while. I looked at the Wilbers website and price for front and rear isn't out of line with many others.

you have changed my mind after watching your video. i was absolutely sold on buying legend suspension for the front and rear of my 2019 RG. only reason i havent done it yet, is they are VERY expensive. switching to wilbers suspension is going to save me around 300 bucks, AND, wilbers comes with everything you need in ONE kit. legends you have to buy front, rear, and even a mounting bracket. So glad i saw your video, you changed my mind, AND saved me money.....thanks

You won't regret your decision! Wilbers comes with even more, a continuously adapting spring rate and damping in the rear-no other suspension is capable of that and that's what makes the difference.

I love watching these vids. They make it look so easy. So easy in fact that I plan my own modding, set my goal, get motivated, get to the bike with my amateur tools, look at it. Even at times I take the seat off. Then put everything back and make an appointment with my mechanic. Just a note, the seat is completely different. Stock seat has very little passenger support and is way wider for the rider than that Saddlmen seat. So it's to me a "little" factor in the ride comfort along with the new suspension, at least a little.

Hello from the UK I ride a 2020 Street Glide Special 114ci which has now covered ten thousand miles on stock suspension, I'm quite happy with the stock suspension it's ok so long as you dial in the correct setting for the weight the bike is carrying.I am six foot three and twenty one stone and it is my personal experience that Harleys seem to like a bit of weight on them maybe that's the problem people are having with the stock suspension this is just my personal opinion you understand.

Been wanting to put a Wilber suspension on my Road Glide for a while. First heard about them on Matt Laidlaw's Podcast. Main reason I got intrigued was for the self-leveling. You definitely are! With changing loads nothing gets even close to Wilbers. Make sure to order it with the correct weights and have it installed properly. So right off the bat, the Wilbers is a 13” shock which will inherently provide an improvement over the 12” on the stock. Even a RG Ultra with the stock 13” shock rides waaaay better than a RG or RG Special. The fix for the harsh ride is always the sag of 3/4” to 1” (or 33% of total travel) to put the bike in a suspended neutral position. The negative aspect of the Wilbers would be the unbalanced nature of the Nivomat only being on one side for a rubber mounted swing arm assembly which means forces are not balanced on both sides. This is deemed a critical negative aspect of the HD stock shocks by suspension aficionados so is a relevant issue and concern on the Wilbers.

A sad note! I rode Japanese bikes until I was about 30 years old. I even got into road racing at Willow springs race way back in 1986. i was a Privateer and started on Kawasaki then onto Hondas. and never did we complain about the Suspension! out of the box we were able to GO! This is not my first Bagger. But that is Harleys worsts parts next to the Grips! For what we pay for them you think we could get a better bike! I'm in SO. California and the price on these and all other suspensions are out of reach for me. they sound good! they look good. thanks for reading my ramblings

Great video. I'm looking at options for my '19 FLHT. Definitely will consider Wilbers. Also, what seat is on the RG? Seems great for solo (very supportive) as well as 2 up (nice and wide). Great looking bike.

Impressed. Wish they made sets for Softails!

Unfortunately not possible so far, the internal mechanism of the self leveling system needs to be mounted almost upright, that makes it impossible to adapted to TC or M8 Softails

You will love it, make sure the install is done right, especially the initial 3/4 in sag adjustment on the rear.

Can you compare these with Legends
@stefansgarage3014
@stefansgarage3014 3 жыл бұрын
Legends will be in between Wilbers and stock. There is no match to a system that constantly adjusts spring rate AND damping while riding-no matter if one or two up.

Rear, but better wait until you can afford to do both
@briandickter2724
@briandickter2724 3 жыл бұрын
You can upgrade your rear shocks first and then do the front suspension later. Don’t wait! The new rear shocks immediately improve your ride comfort. The new front suspension upgrade will improve your suspension performance.

You get the featured set only as a balanced complete set, front and rear. Of course you can do it one by one, even mix manufacturers. But the results will be less than optimum.

So did this raise the bike 1"? Or is it the same height as stock?
@stefansgarage3014
@stefansgarage3014 3 жыл бұрын
I did measurements on several converted Wilbers bikes.While riding it definitely raises the bike to get the maximum ride comfort (continuous spring rate and damping adjusting). A few minutes after coming to a stop, the internal reservoirs release slowly the pressure and the bike has the normal (-Special) height. To be precise, front is a bit lower (less than 10mm/ 3/8in) and the rear around the same amount higher. The Tourings with std rear shocks are even a bit lower than stock, when parked. But honestly, You don't see the difference, when the bikes are parked.
