The only tip I can give for color sanding (not that you asked, lol.)..... Its best to use a sanding block instead of fingers, fingers can actually create high and low spots in the finish. I've even seen/used a stiff spongelike material for this purpose. A stiff (rubber) sanding block would be used for a larger, flatter surface with less complex curves. (Think of like, say, a quarter panel, a door, or a hood on a car.) A very well respected award winning auto body repairman once told me that an amazing paintjob is all in the prep work. The color spraying is actually the easiest part. Also, I would be highly tempted to build some sort of stand so you can do your polishing and color sanding off of the bike in the future. Beyond that, it looks amazing! You'll be doing pinstriping and complex multi-layer paintjobs before you know it.

Dude! Not bad at all for a rattle can spray job! Its amazing what a little wet sanding can accomplish. Only thing different i would have done is a sanding block as others have said fingers can show up later. All in all good job!

WOW!! I'm not that picky even on paint jobs that I actually pay for. That's an amazing job. No paint booth, rattle cans, distractions, and it looks amazing!!

I appreciate that! I learned a lot on this one. Hopefully next time I won't get runs in the primer. I will be priming one day and base coating/clear another. That way, if I get runs in my primer, I can fix it before it becomes a major problem. Also, will give the primer time to fully dry so I won't have the solvent popping issues again.

Nice job, Brandon! Paint it flat black like my Dyna and no issues!

Just a heads up for the next time you try it, you can get car paint in spray cans along with the clear coat for not much. Also look up graffitti spray paint. The cans you get there tend to spray more evenly. It doesn't fix everything, but it helps.

Good suggestions. I did use the SprayMax 2K clear, while it did not lay smooth, it was fixable. Turned out better than I expected after repair.

For me to say that paint job is 98% close to being perfect, would be a good estimate in opinion! Will you put any Harley Davidson branding on the gas tank?!? Awesome job B.B.!!! 👍🏾

Hey Brandon... you should repaint the front fender. I know you don't want to... but if it's worth doing in the first place, it's worth doing right, right?
