Harley Sportster WONT START with Ignition ISSUES!! My Harley Sportster Iron 1200 has been acting up and starting weird recently. Sometimes not starting at all! I will run through the issue that I was seeing on speedometer during start up and provide a simple trick to make sure it doesn't happen to you.

💜🧡 I have to thank you so much for this video. You saved me hours of frustration tearing my bike apart to find out why it won't start. A couple of days ago I had a similar issue on my 2008 Sportster 1200XL. I went out to ride. put the key in the ignition and the security lights flashed, the pump did come on but not even a click when trying to start it. I had previous issues with loose battery cables so I was worried another battery was toast. Watched your video and 💡🧐 security lights flashing? maybe it's not detecting the key fob... 🤔 changed the battery in the fob... the bike started right up!!! 😂 This video is priceless! I can't thank you enough for posting! I might get to ride tomorrow!!! 🎉💜🧡

08 Sportster 1200. Security is a real finicky system. Does all sorts of weird things to the operation of the bike when doesn't function well. Pain in the butt. It's had me chasing all sorts of issues. From hard starting to not starting at all. It's main function is to stop theft, but when it senses a bad component it will prevent operation. Like others say it may be a fuse, a loose battery connection, fuel pump issue, relays. I'd rather not have it. Fob should have an indicator when battery is weak. No fob, no bike. It has to much control.

The HD alarm system drains the battery so you have to keep your battery on a tender all the time when not in use. Is there any way to remove it/ uninstall it from the motorcycle? It causes too many problems.

Mine would not start the other day and I traced it back to the negative terminal on the battery was just the tiniest bit loose. Tightened it up. All good to go.

A dime will fit snugly into the edge of the key fob & will crack it open without damaging the plastic.

You should check your grounds. Most alarms are just looking for right ohm resistance. If your not getting proper electric it can screw with the ohms the alarm is looking for. My wife's wires on her controls were pinched. It would blow fuse every time she turned on bright lights. What company makes the Harley security by pass? Because it sounds like they will be needed in the future. Seen a lot of gm cars have to get New Rockies box to bypass security.

@@TheMotoJawn Although the only thing that the key fob controls on my 2005 is the security system, I did have to replace the ignition switch around 70K miles because it began not working the first time. At least it gave me a warning that it was on its way out.

If you replace your key fob battery when the clocks go ahead in the spring then you'll enter every riding season with a new battery. Easy to remember.

Hello. I change the bars on mine with only changing the brake line and blinker cables. I put everything together and i have a good battery and when i push the start button and nothing happens no fuel pump prime no lights. No control buttons work only the trip button.

I see you have bung kings did you do anything to your front suspension. I have a 2018 iron I put on bung king sky scrappers and the ride has been horrible ever since have any ideas ? I'm in Philly too I have seen you around... Your input would be more than appreciated.

Last week that happen to me with my sporter 1200, then I open the key sensor and I replace the inside batery and start again.

3 min in I realized this wasn't for me, mine ain't got no fob, V-Rod and DWG have fobs, but not my Sportsters.........I have spare fobs in house, carry extra batteries on bike
