I went to saddlemen They are very firm. They take about 3000 miles to break in. I finally feel in love with it. My wife complained at first about the road sofa but once we got a few miles on it she was fine with it. I found at first you need to take a break more often. Once we had a couple thousand miles it was no longer require to stop as often. I have about 10k on it now.

I had a Fat Boy in 2022. Stock seat was comfortable, but only for about 45 minutes. Switched to a Saddlemen road sofa and loved it. Traded that for my Street Glide last November (of ‘22), ride home from Gateway and parked it. Ordered the Dominator in January. Not sure if I rode the bike again before putting the new seat on, so definitely less than 50 miles on the stock seat. I have 7000 miles on the Dominator and I love it. I’ve heard the reviews about the seats being firm and needing a break in, but I never experienced that with either Saddlemen. Both were great right out of the box, and I put 5000 miles on the other one. They ain’t cheap, but well worth the money.

Thanks Roger for watching and sharing your experience. Sounds very similar to my experience. I really like the Dominator on my ST and CVO. The touring step up on my RGS is awesome as well. Thanks for your continued support to the channel. 👊✌️👍

My favorite seats are the Corbin’s as they are very firm. Over the years I have tried many of the seats as you mentioned after a bit of use they get too soft. I have also used Sargent and sent them my seat to make it the way I wanted it and that was an excellent seat.

I have a 2019 street glide special. Bought it new and it now has 95,300 miles. About 90,000 of those miles are with my stock seat. I have an Adam Sandoval solo seat and use that seat for weekend and day rides (most of the time). My stock seat is like a sponge when it rains. I may look into a Sadlemen seat for my next bike. Thanks for this comparison.

Good story Rick. I had a Saddleman SDC on a Fatbob 2015 model and was the perfect ride and the best seat ever! Not with the backrest! This thing sucks for me. Also i had a RKS with a new Saddlemen LS Slim. Lumbar not as good as the sdc but sokes a lot of potholls. But! It is not waterproof, you get a raincover with it! I was placed a little bit higher (about 3/4inch) and had to do something against the buffeting which i got after placing. When you change one thing….you mostly change other things🫤. Now i have an Ultra ltd ‘21 and was 1 week up and down to Cannes. OE seat. No complains till i was at home. 3 weeks low back strain! So. Now i traded my Ultra in for a RKS again. 2023 and recive it in januari next…..what should i do with the stock seat. A Saddlemen does cost $1000 here in Holland🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

@Mrnapussy Thanks for the input on the topic. The only Saddlemen seat I have that isn't water proof is the Road Sofa. It actually comes with a cover so you can keep it dry. I would say my favorite two up Saddlemen seat is the Touring Step Up I run on the Road Glide Special. It's a Tuck and Roll seat with a nice high lumbar support and very comfortable for long hauls. It's a nice seat that looks good like the SDC and gives very good comfort for the long rides. ✌️👍👊

@HDVIBE11 ай бұрын
Thanks, Bob, for watching and commenting. My guess to your question is people expect a quality seat to be soft...but most high quality seats are not soft...I've ridden saddlemen seats since 2021...I've never really had to "break them in". I put them on and ride. When I bought the Slim RP seat, I literally pulled it out of the box, installed it, and went on a 250-mile road trip. No issues or break in necessary. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️

Still have a stock seat with backrest on my 2020 Road King. I rode all day on a week long motorcycle camping trip in mixed weather with no issues. Great video comparing the different seats. Do you have any experience / info on those Amazon seats that seem to be getting very popular? I know you get what you pay for, but some claim for a hundred bucks those seats are much better then stock. Dropping 5-7 bills on saddlemen just isn't an option atm. Thanks again for the great reviews.

I have a 07 street glide highly customized it's time for a seat I do have a stock Harley seat that works but is broke down as you say in the vid. I want to run an El Ray sissy bar to match the rest of my panty dropper. So what would you do for form function and looks?
@HDVIBE10 ай бұрын
Thanks Wally for watching and commenting. I would suggest the Saddlemen Tuck and Roll Step Up. You can get a touring version that has a wider passenger pillion or the straight up Step Up with a very narrow pillion if you run one up. From my perspective the seat looks awesome and is super comfortable. You can customize stitch colors to match the bike if you so desire. Go check out the Saddlemen website to see the options.
