Very great update bro. Loved all the info on your wraith. Thumbs up!

Just sat and watched it all from start to finish and I will say very educational. I just bought my first Wraith (waiting on Fed-Ex to deliver) and ordered some upgrades and realize some mistakes I have already made. lol. Thanks for the videos, will definitely be using them for reference.

Love it, my favorite project. Now, if you could do all that to my Wraith... haha Thanks for the videos, great work.

I am planning on making my own body. The side panels will be made from aluminum and I hope to print a buck to vacuum form my own narrowed hood like the real PSC Venom One ran.

Love to see some more run time

First, I thought "Really? Almost 15 minutes of FLUFF???" But, it was to my benefit... somewhere along the way... collecting parts for my Wraith I had ordered the AX10 MIP driveshafts... then some time later I thought I made an error ordering the AX10 MIPs and marked them for return. I don't think I ever followed through or, at least, I hope I didn't. My wife is the recipient of the parts (my treasure chest as she calls it) while I'm in the sandbox. Anyway... I think I still have the AX10s, now know why, and made a note so not to forget. Thanks again for your contributions!

You talking about the new VP knuckles and chubs your going to change out haha! :) maybe some KMC VP rims
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
I'm going to stick with the knuckles and C's I have on here, however I may switch up the wheels for a completely different reason...

Hey Harley you ever had thoughts of doing a trailing arm setup on you P.S. Wraith just wondering the benefits if any from a double triangulated setup
@ramsay480411 жыл бұрын
are you going to do a cms kit, or do u not care for them, a buddy just put the vanquish cms kit on his Poison Spyder and it looks nice

Are you going to run the same body on the new cage? Or are you going to get a new one?

Hey Harley , thanks for doing an sharing this budget build video.. I am curious to know your ESC program setup. I realize it is in crawler mode , more specifically do you use the smart sense or the sensored mode ?
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
I run Smart sense, about 50% drag brake, linear throttle and brake, high power start up. That's all I can remember off hand.

Good recap! Quick question-- did you ever shim the pinions in the axles? Thanks Josh!
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
I never did. I have only ever shimmed a couple of axles. I probably have .050" of play in the pinion but it isn't enough to worry me. Proper shimming is always a good practice, but one that I rarely execute.
@DeezTricky11 жыл бұрын
I never had this problem on my SCX or Ridgecrest but did have the failure on my Wraith kit. Thought it would be better to mention it to ya Mudguy (I was the guy who mentioned it on your video) so you could check it before you ran it and not have the issues I did. You may not need to but then again it is something that can cause problems. You may be fine but as Harley said, proper shimming is always good practice in RC.

maybe rear steer? just tried it on my wraith snd still not to sure on it...

Have you thought about lighting? I gues the easy way would be a light kit from the RTR Wraith. But I would love to see what you do for lights with a $50 budget
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
Being that the TTC is approaching very quickly I have a new Mattzilla Wraith chassis on the way due to time constraints. When it comes in I'll be doing some lighting that would also apply to the Wraith chassis.

I was wondering as you didn't mention or I missed, did you have to machine out the SLW Beadlocks for the knuckle weights ?
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
Nope, SLW's clear very well.

thanks, building a similar buggy, have the care package on the way from Vanquish Stage 1 upgrade "orange", 10pc titanium link set to start

just got my wraith yesterday, doesn't look like this yet but give me a week ... or two. will be hitting PM hobbies on my way home to the ranch is Delia mid April will buy some addons then, have vanquish stage 1 alum parts and titanium links coming in mail... hope they get here before I leave
@SeamusMacMattain11 жыл бұрын
as much as it sucks to not get the parts in, I am glad for the recap... it lets us know in one quick stroke everything going on with the budget build. I really appreciate this build specifically because I am doing similar to my Dingo, slightly less per week, but same concept of an over time upgraded badass truck... One question though, as far as the 'final episode' goes, are you planning on continuing the upgrade build series in video? I know not as a 'budget' anything once you begin fabbing and welding, but I really want to see this truck through its phases
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
I will keep the build going but it won't take on the same format as the budget build. I likely won't track the costs at that point and I am not sure if I will keep up the "Every Thursday" format.
@SeamusMacMattain11 жыл бұрын
works for me, as I said, I just wanna see this truck to the end!!

Hey Harley, i noticed this week is not in your Poison Spyder Budget Playlist. I like things correct and where to find them back. Hope you would fix it. Also for your other followers. :)

We'll you have inspired me to build a ps wraith !! What motor would you recommend with a tekin rx8 gen2 ? Oh and I run a dewalt motor with fxr pro in my scx10 on 3s and it's amazing , didn't know if you had tried it yet. And my honcho is a heavy truck but that dewalt just won't die and has loads of power
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
The motor I am running is the motor I recommend. I have seen the drill motors before, it's not something I prefer personally but they work well for many people. If I run brushed I like to run the 5 slot Crawlmaster motors from Holmes Hobbies for smoother delivery and plenty of power.
@brycedennis86888 жыл бұрын
Will the stock differentials/lockers/dogbones hold up to weighted wheels and brushless?
@HarleyDesignsInc8 жыл бұрын
You will have to upgrade parts for sure. Weighted wheels should be avoided if you want to run stock parts. I never run weight in my wheels.
@DrDiff95211 жыл бұрын
What about axel housing swaps?
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
It is something that I would like to get to. I would probably swap in my Curries though, and you can guess that it would need quite a few weeks of budget to pay for that!
@DrDiff95211 жыл бұрын
Maybe do that when you swap the cage

Harley ever do a cantilever rear suspension on a wraith
@HarleyDesignsInc11 жыл бұрын
Nope, never saw a reason to. The Proline shocks I am running provide all the travel I need and tuning shocks at a 1:1 ratio is much easier to find tune then trying to deal with an exaggerated rate from a cantilever setup. The only time I see cantilever as useful is when you are dealing with a very tight packaging situation.

I have the rc4wd 20t motor in mine. For $10 you can't beat it.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
When that one goes out, try and nice rebuildable motor and you'll see the benefits. Sealed can motors serve their purpose but spending a little extra you'll see the clear advantages.
