I just did the same thing about 3 weeks ago, because I used your idea for the battery tray up front. I went and ordered the hood hinge kit from CKRC saved me the 30 min. trip into town.

I just looked it up, it's listed at $14 roughly. You can really get the parts you need for about a dollar if you have a hardware store anywhere near by. Convenience is more important to many people though and I understand that.

I'll try and throw a link or search term in the description. You should be able to easily find them at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc.

Wow, you guys are fancy, i just made a couple of holes and biffed a couple of cable ties around the bottom of the wind screen. As for the 'latching mechanism' i had some spare venom creeper parts lying around and used the battery cover post/clip things. They screw right into the existing screw holes and the little clips hold the bonnet down, very neat and reliable way of doing it. I havent even lost a clip yet, even after changing batteries on the trail, in the pine-needles! I lost a couple of allen keys though, look just like pine needles in dim light.

I used some small Dubro hinges for airplanes and a Traxxas Rustler battery tie down kit to latch the hood. Magnet ideas brilliant though.

traxxas part #3727A is used for the screws and body clips.

I just got rustler battery strap pin holders, put them threw the hood then put the top back screw in so it pivots on that

That's what I've been reading, it took them a few days to process my order. the screws they send for the front hold downs look like there from a rc18 (the battery hold down screws). I've seen some one used traxxas parts can't remember the part numbers.

can you show us the correct hinges you spoke of i have the original wraith and want to hing the hood i hate all those screws to remove.have not done the battery front change over due to that

Nice mod man. I like the breakaway with you in the comp. In my opinion these hinges seem stout. The should work great for you.

Absolutely. Just an option for anyone not willing or capable of doing so.

They work really well, but they aren't a true scale tire. The BFG's will be back.

What motor can I put in my poison spyder that will give me a little extra speed but won't affect my torque or twist driveshafts??
@HarleyDesignsInc10 жыл бұрын
If you want more power you are going to have to replace the driveshafts. To get more speed and keep the torque you will likely need to go with a quality sensored brushless system. You can find more info in that in this series, look up the other video where I covered that specifically.

It's a pretty easy method, body lines are just always my biggest concern. This isn't perfect but is just good enough. Boooo on CKRC though. Not a fan, shady business ethics.

What's wrong with CKRC? I've bought plenty of stuff from them. They actually call when stuff is out of stock and have worked with me to correct the order. Is there something I'm missing? Don't get me wrong, I buy from RPP hobby and love them, just wondering why folks aren't fans of CKRC
