Just checked and Story Mode was affected by this update so, whether intentional or inadvertent, the Unmarked Cruiser can now be modified in Story Mode as well. Hell yes. Still can’t modify the marked cruiser though as you still get the “Cop cars can’t be modified” prompt. The Franklin weed mission is still the best way to acquire one.

Unfortunately, the standard cruiser can not be modified as it is a different vehicle to the LE Cruiser. They are named differently in the game files (POLICE1 and POLICE4, respectively)

@@alexjackson9527 Yeah I remember in my modding days them being separate files but both of them can now be modified in GTA Online so I wanted to see if those changes made their way to Story Mode, as they sometimes do. Sure enough you can modify the unmarked cruiser but not the marked one. So they’re not the same file/model but since you can now modify both cars in Online I was just checking if the same was true in Story Mose but they only enabled it for the unmarked cruiser. That’s the one I always steal anyway so I’m not mad about it.

In case no one knows, the police lights on this car are WAY brighter at night and can be seen further away than the Stainer LE (or any other police car actually) It's so awesome, it's the main reason I bought this even though I have the Stainer LE.

I've had the normal Stanier for a while now, with the Hot Rodder police-like wheels blacked out, white or sometimes silver paint, all the performance upgrades (aside from turbo) armor and bulletproof tires, roleplaying it as a decommissioned Highway Patrol car or something. (Also a Granger, Rancher, and whatever the vehicle Franklin has in singleplayer is, always forget the name! All kitted out much the same, intended to be similarly decommissioned police vehicles.) People underestimate the Stanier a lot, I'd consider it something of a low-end sleeper car, it's a very dependable and surprisingly capable vehicle that's decent at chasing down most things other aren't super cars, also has a lot more weight than most people might expect, letting it ram and pit other vehicles fairly easily. I'm still working on getting the money, I'm missing a lot of businesses and don't have money to buy shark cards so I have to grind my way, just got the scrapyard after three solid days of grinding free roam jobs. Super excited to add both of the Stanier cruisers to my fleet of police vehicles soon just gotta keep up the grind!

I'm quite pleased with that free version of Stanier although it's showing its age. I would've much preferred a 'regular' Buffalo (FIB version) because of the lame ground effects package that doesn't look law enforcement at all. I spent hours trying to turn various free roam sedans into unmarked cruisers, but they just don't look the part mainly because a lack of chrome center cap wheels asides from the ancient giant grey ones on the hot rod ones. I'm a little dismayed how the official law enforcement vehicles don't have jammers at least. I think I'll do what you did and dress up the Buffalo STX and welp silently about the lack of siren or lights along with proper cop wheels.

For this amount of money Rockstar should have taken the Vapid Aleutian (Ford Expedition) that they just added to the game and made it a FIB variant. Also the unmarked cruiser is a Ford Crown Victoria. It is nearly 2024 and pretty much no police departments use this car anymore, they should have taken the Ford Taurus Police Interceptor that is the game's default police car and remove the decals to make a unmarked cruiser. Also , everyone loves the Dodge Charger Pursuit, now that would be worthy of the 3.9 Million Rockstar is asking for. Hopefully GTA 6 we will have better police cars.

You can do that, just hop out of the car with sirens blazing. The sound will stop but the lights will keep flashing, the tail lights are the only ones that stop flashing back and forth when you exit the vehicle.

The police hellfire in dripfeed would be the one for performance i guess bet the price will reflect that though. The marked cruiser, Stanier LE. The customization options are insane, and you can see the model has been redone, both custom sirens are different from those in the OG Stanier; has tech options (7 to be precise), and you could recreate just about every US police cars with the multiple livery options and car colors.
