This is a reimagined version of the Anthem of the Prophet ﷺ composed by the British-Muslim group, Harmonia Alcorani. The edit is meant to capture the majesty that the European Gregorian tradition captures in order to profess and convey the majesty of God and the sacred.
Please consider donating to Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad's new Cambridge Mosque as well as to the musical group: www.cambridgemosqueismoving

Many European historians hold that knighthood (Futuwwa) was something that had been transferred to Europe through Muslims and see it as an Arabs’ contribution to European culture.

Surprised to see so many Muslims assume this is unislamic just because the recitation is culturally different from Arabic style, it does not have instruments nor any problematic statements, and is a nasheed, what's wrong in it? Too many people conflate Islam with Arabic culture.

As a fellow Arab let me tell you that you are falling for the erroneous notion that Islam can be detached from its Arabian origin. This is not something that ever lead to anything good when it was adopted. The earliest manifestations of Persian nationalism paved the way for the Safawis’ defacement of what was once a great country and a great people who made innumerable contributions to Islam.

For my Arabic brothers who may perceive this as un-Islamic, I encourage them to engage in self-critical analysis to discern between habits or statements rooted in Islamic teachings versus those stemming from Arab culture. Who claims this to be part of Islam? It's obviously a cultural thing. Just because it isn't all in Arabic and not in the style you're used to doesn't make it bad. If someone happens to prefer nasheed like this what would be wrong with that? Don't scare people away from Islam like this. "Pray on" is an incorrect translation and a blasphemous one as well. What صلى على means is for God to praise him amongst the highest and most eminent of the angels i.e. الثناء عليه في الملأ الأعلى. And so the correct translation would be something like "Exalt, my Lord, the Prophet" or "Glorify, my Lord, the Prophet".

@@discovernewthings1415 so if it's not recited in Arabic or in the Arabic metre then it's a deviation? Please brother, Islam came to purify cultures but never to impose. RusoolAllah (s.a.w.) even asked the people of Arabia to tell him the supplications and prayers that they'd use before Islam so that he could allow the ones that didn't have shirk in them and leave the rest. That is what Islam is meant to do, all peoples, their likes, desires, cultures and aspirations cannot be the same, and hence the flavour of Islam that you see there cannot be the same as well. @@abriefsummaryofhistory7449 many comments to the effect of 'this is not part of islam', or it is a 'bidah'. The wahhabi cult has brainwashed many muslims into thinking that you can't sing or recite poetry honoring the prophet SAW, or recite salawat melodiously. Ridiculous.

The translation says, "Pray my lord upon the prophet" which is wrong because Allah doesn't pray this is kufr.

@Æthelstan Allah doesn't pray period and no scholar ever translated it like that, rather this is from the shubuhaat of the Christians.

@@ibnhassanq657 pray and blessings can mean the same thing, in surah al ahzab verse 56, "Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace."

@@Avicerox I don't know what "durood" is, that's not an Arabic word. Anyway. "Pray on" is a literal translation and it's incorrect. What صلى على means is for God to praise him amongst the highest and most eminent of the angels i.e. الثناء عليه في الملأ الأعلى. And so the short version of that and the correct translation would be something like "Exalt, my Lord, the Prophet" or "Glorify, my Lord, the Prophet".

It's haram to make these kind of Christian style song because the prophet said : "من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم" Translation: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them"). It is reported by Abu Dawood (Book 32, Hadith 4020)
