One of he best videos i ever saw, congratulations. In my mind, I always viewed the music of Björk, Sigur Ros, Mozart and many other composers to be more interesting. The chord progression may make a song boring sometimes. Keep up the great job man, quite a lesson you gave me!

So glad I came across this video. Very well explained and visualised, thank you I feel this song utilises repetition and harmonic suspension extremely well. The Lydian mode and Melodic Minor are two of my favourite modes (another being the Mixolydian ♭6), all of which sound slightly "unsettling" and are capable of building a beautiful, ethereal atmosphere ♪

I can try and give a brief analysis. The song is in C minor which is established by the drone in the intro and the vocal melody, but the chords played through the verses are A flat minor 7 and B flat, which ascend as if they want to resolve to the root chord (C minor), but only do so at the bridge/chorus section, which adds tension during the verse. The bass line also adds a lot of tension as it rests on F, the subdominant of the scale, which basically always feels like it wants to resolve to the root chord. All of this leaves the song feeling very unrested which I guess gives it the ethereal ungrounded feeling that it has.

English is not my 1st lang) of the scale lydian mixolydian locrian etc @ 0:10 what did you write? now just because from modal to modale there isnt much difference difficulty to understand isnt it?

There is NO WAY you can possibly maybe think this might be in G. It has Lydian written all over it. Some other songs have a degree of ambiguity to them. This is not one of them. This is C Lydian. (The original is actually in B Lydian btw).

It's C Lydian. I think the way I introduced my comments on the video sound a bit confusing. I meant the melody sound like it's in G but the C bass harmonize to be C Lydian.
