I wonder how you guys feel about the rings of power? 😅
@TheGreatsagegoku Жыл бұрын
@Matt Black I mean, it's fanfiction. It's whatever, I don't get bent out of shape, fanfiction has existed a long time and will continue to. It's impossible to add canon, the author is dead, and the show doesn't seem to try super hard to fit into canon from what I hear. I have no interest in seeing it like I have no interest in reading the millions of fan stories written in the LoTR universe. I'm sure some of them are really good but I'm not digging hard to find them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the nazgul rings make them invisible like Frodo? It's just that they put cloaks over their invisible clothes. I assume Sauron went invisible but then put scary armor over his invisible clothes?
@CraigMetalHead2 жыл бұрын
No, the rings given to the humans were to give them everlasting life... the twist was it didn't stop them aging, so they continued to live and became wraiths or "Ring Wraiths". And the ring of power is a part of Sauron, he can do much more with it than anyone else, it doesn't make him invisible because he doesn't want it to. It is also what makes the other rings corrupt their wearers into his servants. (However that wasn't successful in corrupting the Dwarves, but they did suffer tragedies because of their rings. And it didn't corrupt the elves because their 3 rings were made AFTER Celebrimbor found out what Sauron had planned so they never wore their rings while Sauron had possession of the one ring, which is why you still see the 3 elven rings and their uncorrupted bearers (Elrond, Galadriel, and Gandalf*) in the Lord of the Rings) * Not an elf, but bestowed the elven ring of fire by the original elf bearer so he could bestow hope in the hearts of others

Didn't Sauron 'pour his power' into the rings or something?
@zehsackett61322 жыл бұрын
He tricked an elf into helping him make them. The rings preserve and hold magic. He poured part of his essence into the one ring to bind them all to his will. Didn't work on the dwarf kings it just corrupted them, elf kings were too wise to be corrupted and the human kings were turned into ringwraiths cause they desired to live forever

I can't believe they called something the Clone Wars, to the extent that some hick on Tattooine has heard of it, when it was just some troops fighting a bunch of losers in a bug arena, some stuff on the Wookiee planet, and the guys killing all the Jedi a year later.

I can’t believe Dan actually thinks Sauron made all the rings
@harmontownhallofrecords80513 жыл бұрын
He did, kind of. In canon, all but one of the Rings of Power were made in the Second Age by the Noldorin Elven-Smiths of Eregion, with Sauron guiding their craft under the guise of the emissary Annatar. Sauron then crafted the one ring in secret.
@KittensShotJFK2 жыл бұрын
Right, exactly. Only the three elven rings were made by Celebrimbor without Sauron's corruption. That's why even though Sauron has no power over those three, their magic is still tied to the One ring making them useless after the One's destruction. That's why in the story (with few exceptions) the rest of the Elves made their way to the Grey Havens after Sauron's final defeat in the return of the king. They lost the magic that protected their respective kingdom's. Lol ya'll got me nerding out, here 😆

The lord of the rings refers to the aspect of control the ring has on its wearer, and necessarily the plural on rings is because the ring demands they other rings be brought together also
