In my opinion, these are better then the majority of Mexican made Fenders. On paper, they are made in the states, have nitro finishes, and are more expensive. Yes, you don't have the big Fender name behind it but the ones I've played were impressive and to me, these would rival an American pro if you are going to compare these to fenders.

Personally, I like hearing clean sounds when determining what a thing sounds like, but OD/Dist/Fuzz sounds can change with varying inputs, too. I guess it's up to the presenter to be smart about it and not just max out the signal without some context for comparison. Cool guitar, btw.

Are making GREAT Amps, but they not exactly affordable ☹️ although with the Blues kings they kinda gettin’ in that area. Mark Knapke the whole fun of a Harmony is finding a delightfully weird pawn shop guitar, with wonderfully terrible pickups. That anyone can afford. Originally they were an every mans guitar you could get at Sears. My first guitar was a terrible Stella Harmony, and I loved it.
@sidestyle055 жыл бұрын
@@conanseibel4464 First, if you judge things by an idealized memory, you will always be disappointed. No one at the time thought Harmony pickups were "wonderfully terrible." I remember very well! It's only now in retrospect that we remember these things of our youth with a halo glow. When you bought a Harmony back in the day, it was a "first guitar" and you knew it was gonna kind of suck but it worked and you were excited and it was cheap and you thought "Well, what do you expect for that money?" and you just made due. You loved that old Stella not because of the "charm" of its many cheap faults, but in spite of them because it was your first guitar. Now, I will grant you, the designs were indeed thought of as "delightfully weird"! Second, you can still buy that pawn shop junker! Just because a new, quality, US made Harmony is available doesn't mean all the originals are gone. Progress doesn't always mean the eradication of the old. The old and new can live side by side. I really want one of these new ones....I also really want an original cheap-o Harmony/Teisco to mod and fuss around with as a hobby project. Third, I would say this product deserves to be judged on its own terms. If the sound, the playability, the construction is there, I say give it the credit it deserves. These look fantastic to me, they sound terrific. It's US made in a former Gibson factory so I would say the competition is the Fender American Performer Jazzmaster or G&L Fullerton Doheny and this is priced right in the middle of that range. If it plays as well, is as well finished and constructed, the styling and especially hand-wound gold foils make it unique enough in my opinion to warrant consideration. It's definitely enough of its own thing that the "might as well buy a Fender for that price" doesn't hold up. I'd buy it over the Powercaster for sure.

I know this is off topic but you deserve a pat on the back! I've given you negative comments on how I lost faith in your honesty with your review on the Firefly guitars way back when you 1st reviewed the guitar and you gave it a great review. I gave you, (IMO) the facts about the questionable quality, upgradeability, with playability and it's cost effectiveness to own one of these guitars! I was completely dissatisfied with you and your review with comments, (which to date, you still leave out on buying one of these guitars). I must admit that you seem completely dissatisfied with owning this guitar, which made you think about smashing to pieces or just giving it away after putting it to the test in a live performance. You must have known from the beginning that these guitars are worthless to modify and spend the money to upgrade in order to get it to play and feel good with any type of playing ability that the player has! You've sort of, kind of, perhaps possibly, gave it a maybe, and spoke with some truth for the Firefly guitars. I'm glad you have taken the time to tear the guitar apart and show everyone on KZbin just how and why these guitars are so cheaply made and are not worth the effort to put money and time into them. Unfortunately, only KZbinrs having any experience with modifications and upgrades to any guitar can see it for what it's worth! Though Firefly still has the ability to make a profit from your honest opinion on these guitars. I am not a troll and I have over 15 guitars in my personal collection that are a musician's giging guitar and can count on. I've always given a real opinion on facts because I don't have KZbin paying the bills! As a matter of fact, I don't do videos because I don't want to be part of the game in earning money while giving any and all potential sponsors positive reviews even if they don't deserve it. I was brought up with values and strong ethics to give others my own opinion on whatever I have experience (good or bad) and why they should try it for themselves. You do deserve some credit for sharing how you feel about the guitar, but you still left it questionable for others to spend time, effort and money on the Firefly guitars! Everyone has to understand and read between the lines just to know if they should be purchasing a Firefly. New kids on the bus won't get your message and perhaps go through the money, time and effort before they realize that these guitars are actually worthless to put another penny into it, as well as having to spend time and effort for shipping the Firefly guitar back for a refund. Some if not most of us really know what a pain in the butt it is! Well enough of me giving my own opinion or bellyaching experience and thoughts on the Firefly guitar. Down deep inside, I know that you know what I'm expressing. I just don't want any person to go through what I've and others have been through with the Firefly guitars. I like everyone else listen up and understand that it's really not a good guitar for the money. But I, myself have learned the hard way!

Wow! $1200 for a Harmony! Up until the 1970's, Harmony was the largest guitar company in the world, larger than Fender and Gibson, they had a factory in Chicago, they made guitars for other companies, they closed in the mid 70's sometimes and the company name was sold and has since changed hands several times.

Instead of creating their own new brand and image(hard work!) for these fully new guitars that KIND OF remind you of something old.
