Hi Deiter, Our units detect the incoming chords and create harmony from a combination of that and your lead vocal note, so there's no need to adjust anything when playing a 1/2 step down. The unit will simply "hear" an Eb instead of an E, for example. Everything will work just the same as it would with standard tuning.

Hi John, the guitar signal passes through the Harmony Singer on the way to the amp. We look at the incoming dry/clean chord information to work out the harmonies and the signal moves right along to your guitar pedals/amp.

Hi David, I'd think of the H. Singer as an even smaller and simpler G-XT. The sounds are both of the same quality, but there's presets and some other options in the G-XT that the harmony singer doesn't have. It's more intended to chuck down on the floor and get a great harmony whenever you want it, with minimal setup.

Hi Dexter, All of our pedals in this form factor offer +24V phantom power. The Rode may require +48. If that's the case, then you'd need an external +48 phantom supply.

What does it do for sus 4 chords or 6/9 chords ? Does it basically only find 3rds above and below the main vocal melody voice?
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicky, Yep. The caveat is that the mix of the particular track will determine how well the chord tracking works. The better the unit can "hear" clear chords (root+3rd+5th etc.) the better it will work.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
HI Randy, The Harmony Singer doesn't create any guitar audio or processing, so you can't get audio out the Mic out.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Heya Michael, You could do either. It's up to you to tune the guitar itself, so the placement of the tuner only matters if the pedal before it would somehow affect the sound. Harmony Singer doesn't change the guitar sound, so the tuner will "hear" it the same in either setup.

How does the momentary mode work and what is its function How do you set it up
@tchelicon10 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Edels Momentary mode activates the harmony only when the button is pressed. The default mode is "Latched" which is press on, press off. You can change the button function by holding down the footswitch as you power up the pedal. It will remember which "state" it's in on subsequent power cycles.

Hi Jose, No, you need 12V to power the preamp and other electronics in the pedal. That's also why we don't offer battery power...yet.

do you have to plug in your guitar through the pedal??? i play acoustic mostly..should i just plug through a separate DI??
@tchelicon6 жыл бұрын
Hey Jessica! You do have to plug your guitar in through the pedal, yes. There is a 1/4 inch inupt and output on the sides of the stompbox, and the mic in/out is on the back. The Pedal needs your guitar plugged in so that it can generate harmonies based on the chords you are playing! If your acoustic does not have an amplification system already, a simple pickup will definitely do the trick! Here's a link to more details about the Harmony singer in case you have any more questions:www.tc-helicon.com/Categories/Tchelicon/Vocal/Stompboxes/HARMONY-SINGER-2/p/P0CDA#googtrans(en|en) Thanks for singing with us :)

Hi Dexter, You can definitely use a wireless mic. Typically, the mic receiver will have an xlr output, which you could run into the Harmony Singer's XLR input. Just watch the gain staging. You'll need to make sure that the signal coming from your receiver doesn't overload the H. Singer's input. You want to see green/yellow LED almost all the time when you sing, but never red.

+DAMIEN GUNN We need chord information to create harmonies correctly. A bass doesn't often play chords, so it's not that great for it. I'd try an H1 where you can set the key/scale manually, though you'd have to do it per-song. VoiceLive Play would probably be a better bet.

Help ! ... I turned on my T/C Helicon Harmony Singer (Blue Box) and the vocal part doesn't work anymore. The guitar plays through it fine but dead silence on the vocal. The only thing I know wrong is the little mike button on the right is gone, but it fell apart months ago and I'm pretty sure it has worked ok without it (I could be wrong). Inside the T/C where the 'button housing' box is/was, there are only the 6 terminals sticking up. So I have a couple questions; (1) Do I need the mike button for the TC Harmony Singer to work? ... and if so, ... (2) can I jumper across a couple of the 6 terminals to permanently lock it in the 'non-mike' mode ? (I don't even have the controlable mike) ... and if so, ... (3) which terminals do I jumper? Many thanks in advance

I have used a Harmony Singer for sometime now with great success. However as of late I get a lot of static. I have traced the problem to the Harmonizer. I used the ground lift but to no avail. how can i connect my acoustic guitar effects, using with this harmony singer?
@kiskadar69 Жыл бұрын
Step 1: Connect the guitar output to the "INST IN" input of the TC-Helicon Harmony 2. Step 2: connect the TC-Helicon Harmony 2 "INST THRU" output to the input of the first guitar effect pedal (if you don't have a guitar effect pedal, connect it to the input of the guitar amplifier). The INST THRU is a buffered bypass and doesn't affect the guitar signal in any way.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Yep absolutely you can use an acoustic guitar. That said, H. Singer doesn't provide processing, so it can't boost the level. We just read the incoming chords and send the signal on its way down the line.

1) Does the Harmony Singer queue off the actual guitar notes in the 3rd and 5th positions, or does it queue off the chord FORM? 2) I know it can read the difference between a third and a minor third, but can it read the difference in a 5th and a diminished 5th, or an augmented 5th ?
@tchelicon9 жыл бұрын
AngelAndTheWolf Heya! 1. It looks at the root+3rd+5th and then any other notes it can to determine the chord. Using alternate chord forms does affect what the system does with the harmonies. Sometimes, using an inversion will get you the harmony output you want if the other version of the chord isn't working for you. 2. It can tell the difference between the chords and the out put will vary based on the lead note you're singing and the chord it sees, plus the voice output you've selected. That said, in something like Harmony Singer, you're limited to the guitar detection, whereas in something like VoiceLive 3 you can do custom scale maps for the times when guitar detection isn't giving you the output you want.

Also, I find that I have far less headroom with the tone engaged before I get feedback that has to be eq'd out which is counterproductive. Advice?

For a keyboard with MIDI out, you should get the Harmony M for superior MIDI chord tracking, stereo output, more control of harmony and effect settings, and 10 programmable presets. It's not quite as small as this pedal but still quite compact. I use 2 Harmony M units on gids, so the other singer in my band can provide 3 part harmony behind me based on my keyboard playing. @tchelicon8 жыл бұрын
Yep sure. You'd use the single "high" or "low" voice harmony settings. Realism is in the ears of the listener, but we tend to make the effects a bit loud in videos to ensure people hear them. In practice, turning down the harmony voices so they sit just behind your lead voice can make them sound much more realistic.

100%, but you won't have control of the key, it will just harmonize with whatever you are singing, pushing it up an octave or down an octave, etc... if you want a bit more choice on which key it harmonizes with, the H1 stompbox is a great manual harmonizer.

Hi Hallam, You could run the audio from your keyboard through the Harmony Singer as long as it's got good chordal information in it. If your keyboard has the ability to send 1/2 of the keyboard out one output (I'm thinking left hand for chords) then that would be ideal.

@tchelicon10 жыл бұрын
Hi J Allan, the guitar path is simply a thru. There's no electrical connection between the guitar and the vocal effects. The guitar sounds comes from the guitar, through the H.S. and then on to whatever guitar rig you have, including distortions or whatever. That's what Tom's doing. It comes out of the H.S.s and into a few TC-E pedals before hitting the amp you see miked int he background.

@tchelicon8 жыл бұрын
+Benji Swafford It's definitely more susceptible to errors when you're finger picking. Essentially it needs to hear root third and fifth type stuff fairly close together to make a good guess at the underlying chord. Might be worth grabbing one from a place you can easily return it and give it a go yourself, since it's such an individual experience to see if it works as you hope it might.

If you feed audio instead of guitar into the Harmony Singer it'll work the same as long as it can hear clear chords in the music :)

Hi, I´ll buy a VoiceLive Play GTX or Harmony Singer, but I'm in doubt. I want to use my pedals with my guitar and VoiceLive Play GTX only to my voice. Could this feature "VoiceLive Play GTX listens to the Guitar input to set key automatically" still work to my voice?

Does it work when you are just not playing the guitar at the time of singing? Eg sometimes rhythm guitar only plays in chorus for more power (in rock). And what happens if you play a chord out of key by mistake, does it screw up the harmony?

When you're not playing guitar the unit will be in the key/scale of the last chord you did play. That can work for a while if the chords in the song are complimentary, but it's best to be playing all the time. If you play an incorrect chord, the harmonies follow that chord.

Can you still use the harmony without guitar connected just for the vocals

Not for Harmony Singer. We need something with chord information coming into the instrument input to determine key/scale. Some other products allow manual key/scale selection.

I have a vocalizer 4 and it seems to distort the harmonies. Do you have similar problems VL at higher volumes.

Hi Marada, it all depends on your input volume. If you aren't clipping at the mic-pre, the harmonies shouldn't clip either. Just pay attention to the LED and make sure you're seeing green/yellow most of the time, but never red.
