Dont expect your pig to put on a harness this easily..😆 🤣 it will take time! Pop tart is a very good pig and took right to it! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, what a great video! You are fantastic with Pop-Tart! I so appreciate, respect and adore your love and affection for your little friend and how you make her feel comfortable and unconcerned as you protect her and lovingly guard over her! Pop-Tart could not have a better mommy!!!

You are talented and Poptart clearly trusts you! I have a little 3 month old mini piglet that today I determined needs to be harness trained. I was making some mistakes and you have set me back on the right path. My motto is, "if you are fighting with your pig, you are doing something wrong". My piggy was on the verge! Thank you so much for sharing!

OnceUpon aFarms I’m so glad the video helped. With pigs everything needs to be pleasant. We just can’t force them because they never forget. It’s challenging at times, but we have to be smarter than the pig.

How do you even get past step one!! I have two little guys who live mostly in their outdoor pen. The one hates even being touched and I can only pet the other when he’s eating... will this get better? I’ve been so gentle with them and have never picked them up. I’ve had them for 2 weeks

Taking our pigs for walks is so much fun. Though, I find they walk so much faster when I drop the lead and they get to just follow behind me. Seems like picking up the lead instantly slows them down.

That's how sensitive they are to pressure. The slightest weigh on the leash is like a brake.

My little Ollie has not much of a problem accepting the harness . But really doesn’t like once the leash is on and he’s more restricted. Is this maybe because of being so used to moving freely and not liking the restrictions?? Is there more I can do to stop him from being so anxious about the leash ? I want to walk him but he likes to run and that’s simply not an option outside of our personal property . Maybe should I try and get him more used to moving with the leash on ? As soon as he feels the tension of the leash he instantly gets anxious and doesn’t like it at all . He can walk around for hours IN the harness . But hates the leash .

How big will she get full grown ? So cute

When I first tried out the harness, there was a lot of squealing and pulling away. It took some practice, time, and patience to be able to use it.

What harness is this and where can I buy? What treats do you recommend? Great video just what I was looking for mine is 5 weeks old he’s the best.

This harness is from Piggear.com. I use a variety of foods as treats. Cheerios, broken banana chips, baby veggie puffs. You can sprinkle some uncooked oats or pellets down.

I just got a pot bellied pig, she's about 60 lbs (a rescue) Her name is Charlette. I want to house train her, and harness train her. Just brought her home tonight. She seems fairly comfortable with me already, and wags her tail at me and oinks happily when she sees me. Since she is older (not sure of her age) Should I do things the same way as here? and any hints on potty training? She has been kept outside. I'd like to change that.

Thanks for taking the time in putting this informative video together. A little constructive criticism: Some times your voice trails off and it becomes difficult to make out what you are saying.

Kayla Davidson the price tag is to protect them from people who aren’t invested and will eventually abandon them
@caponsacchi6 жыл бұрын
6 weeks--that's a great age. I think the breeders who won't sell before 3 months really don't fully socialize the animals, despite their claims. The owner who is working with a pig of 4-6 months is like to have a tougher job lifting her off the ground without deafening squealing and squirming.
