That was an amazing video! I've always wanted to know about harnessing a horse (not that I have any practical applications for that knowledge!). Very nicely done! I've been subscribed for a while, but I don't watch every video. I just want to say that Hugo has really come into his own! I remember how scrawny and unremarkable he was when you first got him. He's become quite the handsome fellow! ❤

Thanks for the kind words and I am really glad you enjoyed it! Hugo is growing up amazing! He's a sweet boy with all the noblest qualities in a horse (paired with some interesting quirks : )

Blinkers wouldn't help stop a horse's bum moving out would they.. in fact Jim Gordon just posted a video where his experienced horse Ken did exactly what Hildie did, while wearing blinkers, because of a slight change in routine

Thanks for posting Josh! Great video, as always. I still rewatch those awesome (during covid) videos and that amazing logging "ballet" you did down through the snowy woods. So glad to see Hugo & Hildy still happy, healthy and loving life at Rugged Ridge. It's time again to place my happy Christmas order of syrups for all my family. YumYum❣️ Pancakes & waffles here we come😋 Be safe, Josh!

Well Josh, I learned a lot. I'll be watching this video again. Thanks for taking this time. I've been logging with a cable skidder and produce farming with tractors all my life. Ive always wanted to switch over to draft animal power. I spent a lot of years cutting timber for teamsters that did the skidding with mules or horses and that got me interested. Ive never found the right time to make that switch myself and its my biggest regret. Maybe someday yet but I'm almost 60 so its doubtful now. Ive taken care of my daughters quarter horses and a haflinger but never learned how to do any thing with them. She just trail rides. So, wish all the best for you Josh, from a Pa logger.

The halflinger would be perfect if you still have them around! Heck, if theyre good quiet horses hitch up the QH as well, i do love a mismatched team : )

Goodluck and thanks for the kind words. Im sure you can find someone to enjoy working horses together in Pa. The amish can be awfully kind and friendly folks, maybe you can hang around some of their teams sometime
