The size upgrades are definitely making a difference, I think it's just a % of the base size, so it's small and you have to watch the edge of the circle as you select the upgrade. You can see it pretty well at minute 24:40 when you choose the size upgrade.

Thank you. It is difficult for me to see these while playing and talking sometimes :) I do still think AOE and some other stats on other skills might be soft or even hard capped though

24:40 you can definitely see the size increasing as you pick them. Especially if you slow down the video speed and zoom in.

You can only take the same upgrade 14 times. Indicated by the little circles underneath each card when you're selecting the upgrades.

@beardy4831 those circles are an indication to when you are going to reach infusions for a spell. 7 is first infusion and 14 is second. There is no limit to upgrades afaik

Yeah, on some other games like this, they show you if the stat is capped (Nimrods: Guncraft) would be nice if there was a bit more feedback so you didn't waste options

Honestly area skill increase seems to be limited unless it's the one from increasing in size due to low health agument. I stopped taking size ones for it as it doesn't seem to really matter at all with it like size increases of other spells
