Have been a huge Ram fan since the late 60's. The 70's were fun and exciting but also disappointing not getting to the Super Bowl and winning one. Dallas and Minnesota always gave the Rams fits in the playoffs. Sure miss 70's football.

@@JBTriple8 The classic look is so much better. Ditch the blue pants, weird horns, and gradient jersey numbers.

I watched him as a kid on the Rams as he caught bombs form Hadl. His numbers would be dramatically better in today's game. And remember, he played for Chuck Knox who only threw on third down.

My favorite Rams offensive player from the 70s. To go along with Jack Youngblood on defense.

This game was the 4:00 slot and it was the first time I had seen the Rams new blue and gold uniforms, quite striking to the eye. Back then, with no internet or ESPN, one could actually get to week 5 of the season without having seen a teams' new threads. It was also a beautiful day in the California sunshine. The only bad thing was the outcome (LOL!). Dallas started to slowly get going with Renfro's INT touchdown, outscored LA 17-3 in the second half, but fell short with a late INT.

Harold Jackson #29, and Lawrence McCutcheon, the original #30, on the Los Angles Rams in the 1970s. Those were the days.

That was awesome Harold Jackson was the man, if only the Rams had a QB during the 70's they would have won a couple of Super Bowls & Fast Harold would be in the HOF. Should have kept Ron Jaworski, not Pat Haden.

He has more yards, receptions, receiving touchdowns and yards per reception than Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Drew Pearson, and Cliff Branch. He also had more yards and yards per reception, caught as many touchdowns and had only ten fewer receptions than Fred Biletnikoff. And while the quarterbacks he played with weren’t trash per say (Hadl in 73 was a first team all pro, and James Harris and Pat Haden had one pro bowl year each), he also never played with a prime Hall of Fame quarterback. Even if you argue Hadl belongs, he did so for only one year at best. Jackson’s playoff career would look underwhelming compared to those guys, but he also again, never played with a prime Hall of Fame quarterback for most of his career. And while he has no championships, Jackson also proved to be the top receiver on four playoff teams in his career, very nearly five, unlike some targets back then who put up higher raw yardage. I say he belongs.

I am a Cowboys fan and I remember that game. Tom Landry was a genius but having Charlie Waters play cornerback covering Harold Jackson was not one of his better ideas. 8-) Waters said that he talked to Jackson after the game and asked “Why did they quit throwing to you? You were killing me.” Jackson: “We thought if we kept throwing to me, Landry would pull you out of the game, and we wanted to keep you in there.” Ouch. The long run result was OK for us. Landry got a better cornerback and moved Waters to safety, where he was All Pro.

I mean...you cant even see the defenders in some of those highlights because Harold had blown so far by them. Thirteen touchdown in '73 in a 14 game season and the Rams are 12-2, but guess what? They still had to go on the road for a divisional playoff game. What? Yes. The NFL simply rotated home field advantage for playoff games. Regular season record meant nothing. Insane.
