Same as Barry Sanders. He would just hand the ball to the closest official. I don’t mind a little celebration. Scoring a TD is an exciting achievement. My mom is an old stick in the mud. She whines every time a guy spikes the ball when he scores. Like everyone should just slink off the field like a robot. Human emotion adds to the game. Now Chad Johnson and T.O. took it to far with their antics, but still some people need to lighten up.

It sucks we didn’t get to see him play a full career in the NFL. If he hadn’t had such a devastating injury there’s no telling what we would have witnessed. Bo was the best athlete of all time. In high school he won the state decathlon his junior and senior year without running the mile. He beat everyone doing just 9 of the 10 events. That’s a true athlete to be so successful at so many different athletic events. Jordan was great at basketball, but couldn’t make it in baseball. Bo excelled in the NFL and MLB. How many guys could field a ball at the wall and throw it to home plate for an out?

I had the privilege of watching Bo Jackson play at Legion Field against my alma mater, the University of Alabama. Amazingly, we won - because of one of the most ridiculous coaching calls of all time. Bo Jackson OWNED us, ran over us like a train every time he had the ball. At fourth and goal for the winning touchdown, Pat Dye faked Jackson up the middle and swept Brent Fullwood right with the ball. Rory Turner "waxed the dude" at the one. Bama won. Damnedest thing I ever saw. We hooted and spewed trash at the losers... Now I'm an old guy, and I realize the history I was watching. Such disrespect, Bo was awesome but he wasn't the prototype, that would be Jim Brown. Understand, cinder tracks are not as fast a surface as synthetic rubber, and grass is not as fast as artificial turf. Yet Jim still clocked 9.6 at 100yds. Imagine what his time would have been on the newer surfaces. Also, OJ's World-class Olympic speed puts him first. Nothing against Bo. An OU freshman back named Marcus Dupree was just as awesome as Bo on the football field while sharing carries with 3 other backs in the wishbone, prompting Switzer to switch to the I-Formation the following year. But Dupree was manipulated and misinformed by a Mississippi grifter and didn't return.

I consider Bo Jackson to be quite possibly the best all-around athlete ever. That is considering strength, speed, throwing, stamina, eye-hand coordination, the works. However I might go with Herschel Walker as the most dominant football player in college football history. I can't argue with Bo Jackson though.

Chicago Shawn - Herschel Walker , Deion Sanders and Jesse Owens were just as good !

+Cozy Cool As far as I know, Herschel Walker and Jesse Owens could not hit a baseball or throw 90 MPH from the outfield. Deion Sanders was not as strong as Bo Jackson and strength is a vital component in being a great all-around athlete. Better choices would be Dave Winfield and Brian Jordan. Neither of those two could tie the shoes of Bo Jackson, athletically.

+Cozy Cool You have a much better case with Walker and Deion Sanders when compared to Jesse Owens. Brian Jordan may come in second to Bo Jackson in my book. Another would be Gene Conley who won the World Series and a championship in the NBA. Not many can make the claim that they won championships in the top league in two different sports. .

@YHWHudah Shuah Ben Dawid Barry Sanders was a great running back. I don't know if he could hit a fastball.

His acceleration was otherworldly and he so easily outran almost everyone. It didn't even look fair. "181 yards and 3 touchdowns and we're still in the first quarter" just insane. That is a career best GAME for most RBs, dude did it in a quarter.

You have to take in who those guys were. They were no speed demons. Herschel was just as big but faster.
