This album is my new Mantra. The songs are fabolous, but Shining Spires hits me every time. Lots of love from Brazil.

10 years in the making and I've been waiting for 10 years - the spiritual successor to Midlake

Transports me to a new realm, music from a bygone era with a modern sound. Love this album!

It whispers directly to my soul. I waited so long for this album and it exceeded all my expectations. I loved infinitely "The courage of others", probably my favorite lp of all my life, and this is his natural son. a lot of folkish sound but also a touch of dark electro pop (like Cure, for example). "seven long suns" in my all time top 10. Thanks so much Mr Smith. Thank you so much

Had it on repeat since it came out. Never heard anything like this before, yet simultaneously I can sense Tim’s Midlake throughout. This album’s a beautiful achievement, certainly worth the long wait 👏

Bamnan and Slivercork was a really special album for me. I signed up for the Harp mailing list about 10 years ago. So great that the album is finally here! Thank you :) p.s. nobody really understands the journey except us on that mailing list I reckon 😆

Want to join the general love for this great record. I agree that this feels more the successor to the Courage of Others than Occupanther and it is well worth the wait. Saw Midlake twice at the End of the Road festival and they were right up there as top ten gigs for me.

Masterpiece from the master. Tim you're such a great talent ❤️ Glad to hear these songs from you

A very rare and beautiful artifact has washed up apon our shores, a Tim Smith album; now joined by his artistic equal and wife Kathi, we have an angel called Harp, trumpeting, chiming and jangling with eighties chorus guitars and melodies, she soars and dives like a flock of birds through the mist and into our ears... and that slight wobble on some of the songs, it really gets to me and i'm enjoying it more with every listen... Kathi is a dam good minimalist drummer too, she has drunk from Ringo's silver goblet, a tincture of roots to nurse the songs, much more suited to Tim's new music than Mr Smith. When i heard Courage i had a feeling it was dying and a premonition i would never see the original line up live. As much as i love that album, for me the drums do not quite work, smith is too busy, wants to do too much in his rolls and fills, in fact his drumming too good for that album. Sorry Mckenzi your still one of my favorite drummers ever! but lets not blame the drummer, there are other factors in the music too. The band wants to rock, Tim wants to chill, Tim is lost! the tension is there, it works majestically in places but it is slowly unraveling towards the end of the album. maybe there will be a reunion of sorts one day!!!??? But low, we are glad' and praises will be sung, the gods have blessed Tim's path with a musical marriage. Tim has dodged the Banshee's cry of death, and Midlake too. Tim is reborn unto life again and is surely drinking from the fountain of love and hope. Hiding in the background are the subtle spirits of 70's electronica, The Carpenters, i swear i heard shades of David Bowie's Low swooping in for brief Vulcan mind melds while Brian Eno and Joy Division's Steven Morris dance with William Blake and Tom York, the mixture and mixing is perfect, it takes us to another world, where all great music takes us, where we might find something we lost. The mystic folk are still here, still talking, oh Goddess i love this shit. Fountain and Herstmonceux made me cry, twice each so far. Lets hope Tim's good woman will keep him on his toes and mission in life so we don't have to wait 20 years for the next vinyl parchment and testament of solid molten gold......... Tim and kathi are alchemists and quietly the sorrow flees from us as we cry the tears away! Only Tim smith could write a song about a castle and make you cry over it! Ps who ever thought of lacing it all with a Cocteau Twins and Suzi and Banshee's type wash is a frigging genius ! end of transmission.

My dude really went off! 😂 love what you had to say…This album is something else. I was lucky to see them in Tucson in (I wanna say late spring) in 2010, even got to chat with Tim for a few minutes after the show. So far daughters of albion is my favorite. Shed a little tear hearing it for the first time just now. Got the vinyl spinning and a fireplace on youtube going since I’m in Phoenix and it was 80 degrees today haha. This album is deeeefinitely making me want to get a flight out to the UK and walkabout with this album on repeat. Take it easy everyone

@@spoocyguy Hi, thanks for your kind words, ha ha yeh i felt compelled, your a lucky man too, i saw the band in Bristol after Tim left. the good thing is that as good as it sounds now, Tim's (and now Kathi's) works always gets better the more you listen to it!! peace, good travels if you go.

Pretentious and self adsorbed. Midlake without him is much better. Not impressed with this at all. Tim appears to be a very depressed person. Must be a blast to be around.
