Retirement is an adjustment. I volunteer at a school, starting again this week. It gets me up and out of the house three mornings a week. I love junk journaling and paper craft stuff. I have an 11 year old beagle that gets me outside, also a kitten adopted us this summer. She just showed up at our door, 8 weeks old or so and so skinny. I started feeding her and found out she’s such a sweet kitten and gets along with our dog. After a vet visit, she’s in the house now. So busy and active. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a kitten - but she is so fun to watch and play with! You’ll figure out your life … it takes time and that’s ok!

My daughter lives in San Deago. I live in Ohio and oh my goodness 😳 I can't believe how ridiculously expensive EVERYTHING is out there 🫨 It's gotten so expensive here in the Cincinnati area too, but I was blown away at how much they pay out a month just to live. Basis everyday needs are insanely over priced my goodness!! We need a Change come November that's all I'll say about that. Anyway Beautiful music on the Harp 😊 you played it so beautifully,. I loved your video yesterday as well. PooDoo is the absolute most precious girl I just love her so much ❤🤗 She cracks me up 😅 I'm heart melts when she sits up on her hind legs 🤗🥰 And you cracked me up playing peek a boo in the shower 🚿 😂😂 Thanks for sharing!! We have the same issues with insurance and electric bills in FL. It’s the greedy companies. Taxes are a different issue.

What about crochet? It’s pretty easy to learn. You are such a crafty person, you might enjoy it. I really enjoy crochet and have made several afghans. Lots of KZbin videos on it as well. I enjoy swimming and joined a water aerobics class. Lots of women there. I am a homebody so I am working on making myself get out.

I totally understand about the high insurance rates out there, I'm a retired school teacher and I'm still waiting to turn 65 to have my Medicare ! You're so right, there's nothing like being home ! Thanks for the mini concert! When did you learn? I work a full-time job & can’t wait to retire! Weekends are always chores that I don’t have time to do during the week. Lately I’ve been procrastinating, not even doing paper crafting which is my hobby. Watching YT & napping too much; at least you’re getting things done!

Hi Laurie - always enjoy your chair chit chat. Hope you find some hobbies/activities to fill your time. I am 4 weeks post knee replacement - my day currently involves knee exercises (painful & difficult), watching the olympics and Paralympics, making bracelets, junk journaling, colouring and wordsearchs. I’m taking early retirement in November 😊 best wishes from the UK

That’s was lovely Laurie, will you be doing request. 😊 I love the tune, Elizabeth Serenade.. I personally don’t like McDonald’s. I think they’re disgusting. The chips are always cold and I wouldn’t touch the burgers. I don’t eat meat anyway now I know why. It’s a shame you can’t find a church to go to. Remember Sunday school. Are there no book clubs. Wow that is a house payment for insurance. You could put that much money away in a savings account. Do you not have an age concern. Have you thought about a handheld game. I have my DSI that I do quizzes on also puzzles.i do love doing 1000 piece puzzles.

As a little girl, i always wanted to own a full size harp. A good used harp at the time would have been about $5,000 ....

Beautiful harp. Loved it. Love Yellowstone. Hubby is watching it again now too. What about joining a gym? Do you have Planet Fitness near you? It’s pretty inexpensive, $10 per month in my area. My mom is retired and she goes 4 times a week. She has also made some friends there. I know you’ll find your groove soon. I think you’re doing great. 😊 Have a great holiday.

Have you considered a part time job at a music store or a cool gift shop? Maybe just one or two days a week. You can still earn a small amount of money and not affect your social security. You can quit anytime you want. It might keep you from being bored 😊

Laurie what do you think about volunteering with organizations that take care of horses? You have lots of knowledge and experience to share😇 maybe you could help with groups that offer the chance for the disabled or disadvantaged to lean to ride 🤩

Hi Laurie & PooDoo! I think I suggested this in the past. I know you enjoy your retirement. How about a part time job? I think in this vlog, you said you wouldn’t work. Maybe, in a school? I’m 66, and work part time in one of the schools in our district. I work as a lunch monitor. You watch the kids at lunch, and at recess. I work about 3 hours a day. Then for another 2 hours after school, I chaperone sports. This job includes letting the kids either use the bathroom or get a drink of water. It gets me out of the house for a couple of hours a day, and it keeps me busy. Trying to add to the pension that I should receive, which will probably be the bare minimum. Whatever you do, enjoy. Take care.

Why don’t you volunteer at a nursing home, take your board game with you, and play with the people who live there? You could take a course at a college like art or something you like.
