In this FREE harp lesson I'll share 3 helpful Learning Tips to help you learn "Shadow Dance", a mid-intermediate lever harp solo that I composed in early 2024. This piece features an expressive melodic line, adorned with intriguing rhythms. The middle section weaves beautifully flowing eighth note patterns between the hands for a contrasting texture. The slow waltz tempo lends a timeless elegance to the piece, creating an intimate atmosphere that resonates with both emotion and poise. Thanks so much for this mini-lesson. I've been working on this piece for a few months. I just love it--it's so beautiful. These tips are really helpful, especially the beginning choices. I always felt like I struggled with this part and wasn't getting better at it. Now I'm excited to try the other options you mentioned. I hope to find one that works for me. The 2nd tip was also useful and I look forward to smoothing those sections out (and to adding some interest and style as suggested in the 3rd tip). Thanks again!

I do love your arrangement and method of teaching. It's a review of my beginning harp lessons of 10 years ago. Now retired, and now 80 years old, I love reviewing technics. I'm at a comfortable immediate level . I will be checking out some of your video lessons after Christmas. Also I get to see Peggy Cove in September as part of a North/Eastern Cruise my daughter and I will be on. Thank you Ann for sharing your wonderful talents with us! God Blessings to you and your family. 👍♥️🎶🕊

Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been working on this piece since you first released it and this provided me some clarity on fingering choices. It’s still challenging to put hands together and not pause within the key phrases you highlighted, but I’m sure eventually with more practice, they will flow more evenly. Your music is not only beautiful, but really builds good harp playing skills.
