Interesting point! While Harper does indeed have a fairly low register and Brian has a fairly high one; they also use different screaming techniques. I'm fairly certain Harper uses fairly standard modern screaming technique, in the same vein as Courtney LaPlante and Tatiana Shmayluk, which makes sense considering Harper's musical background. However, I believe Brian uses a technique that blends falsetto and screaming. Justin Bonitz has demonstrated this style in some of his work as well. In other words, Harper tends to rely on her mid screams, whilst Brian relies more on a high scream technique. Because of this difference in technique, Harper would generally have a lower pitched scream than Brian no matter the ages or anatomies. I may be wrong though; it can be hard to actually hear what's going on in their throats when you can't see them or actually hear how they sound in the room. :P

@@AvengerofGallifrey Harper is using mid fry screams, I can do them as well, but for Brian I am not too sure. I believe he might be doing head voice fry screams which is something I can't do, it's very hard. Courtney uses fry screams as well but Tatiana seems to use false chord screams I think

@@parkourandfreerunning4214 i dont know this artist. im not trying to put her down. im just saying that Poppy's screams have become a trademark. she has great reviews from heavy metal vocal teachers. what you say may be very true. Poppy was a regular singer in her youth and only recently (5/6 years) started to scream.

@@miked4309 I haven't really heard much of poppy's music but I do know in the concert when she did this song, she was just normal screaming and not metal fry screaming, but I seen comments she does better studio wise so I would assume she didn't do it properly in the concert because of the pressure and the fact you have to do it loud. Because for me I can fry scream as well but when I do it in front of others, I focus so much on the projection I lose technique. No hate to poppy btw, she seems like a great artist. Also this artist here is harper, the 9 year old who did Holy Roller cover on the talent show or Britain's got talent whatever it was. She's 12 now I believe which is impressive

@@parkourandfreerunning4214 i remember seeing the distillers and brody's voice was so cashed from touring. maybe Poppy's voice is so tired from extensive touring. ive seen some of the crowds when Poppy is the opener. they dont know her and dont respond and stand there and that has an effect on how she performs. when i saw Poppy she was the headliner and the show was amazing.

Harper is awesome, extremely talented vocalist. You can still hear the young-ness or beginner-ness I guess in her screams, but there’s no denying to full on potential she has going for her. If she keeps at it man, I can totally see her being up there with Courtney from Spiritbox.
