True sacrifice in war. I walked these heights from Boliver to Maryland Heights. Until you walk it, you will never understand how much fuel energy needed. Then do it in 100% wool pants and overcoat in Summer. Astounding courage, bravery and will. Proud ancestor of The Harrington Brothers. Illinois 92nd Mounted Infantry - Wilders Lightning Brigade, Battle of Reeds Bridge /Battle of Chickamauga. Levi, Wade and John Harrington. Armed with Spencer repeating rifles. ~ Wilders Monument

Appreciate this video. Thanks for presenting Adelman and Smith. They became favorites after seeing their Valley of Death video, from years ago. Cheers from the West Coast.

@@JohnnyRebKy Garry speaks very quickly. Yes, I've been pursuing the American Civil War as a hobby for years. I watch movies about it and have read a lot of literature about it. It is very educational and exciting. There were also many Germans involved on both sides. I am following the channel with interest, greetings from Leipzig / Saxony. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqbGqomvg7OdqdE

@@brummel4606 Cool! Glad you are interested in our history 👍. It’s a fascinating subject indeed. My ancestors were from Bavaria Germany and came to America in 1749. So I’ve always had a desire to visit Bavaria and see where they came from 👍. Hopefully some day I can go. If you ever come to the USA 🇺🇸 ….stop by and see me! We will cook some good BBQ and shoot some guns 😎. I have a “ Kentucky Rifle” you would probably love to shoot. They were used in American Revolution and Civil War. Then I have some 1851 Confederate Navy Colt Revolvers that are lots of fun 👍. Nothing like bbq and some historic gun shooting 😎

there were a few civil war veterans and their descendants on titanic. goldshmidt, Isador Straus was involved in blockcade running, Of course Archibald Gracie IV survived and he was the son of same name father who was a BG killed at Peterburg in the salient named for him. Major Butt also has a connection. it is kind of crazy

I don’t think that kid asking about ghost stories was wrong. I remember readin or hearing about 2 girls that were often seen around the railroad tracks but could not be found. Perhaps just folklore?
