re levers vs pedals, ever flipped the reasoning and think: with a lever harp you don't "lose" your feet so you have you feet free for effect pedals, which opens up a whole new realm of expression..

What is the make/model of the electric harp to your right? And thanks for the video. ps I use a Bose S1 on my gigs, totally great!

Kristan, Thank you for your vids. The harp is just a beautiful sounding and looking instrument and you play it wonderfully. The q n a's are very informative and you do a great job explaining some interesting questions. Hope to see you play in a live setting someday.😁

Thank you for sharing - Most interesting! I confess that I'm mildly surprised that you don't use the stand to play the electric harp vertically. I worry about your tendons in your wrists.

I try when the music isn't too intense, but the stand tends to rock and it sometimes squeaks and low notes buzz which picks up on the recording. So i prefer having it strapped on. It's just too cool to not play sideways! My hands are ok 😊 just need to adjust some fingerings for the more involved scores!

Update: I figured out how to fix the squeak: I put a sock in the frame 😆 and the rocking is fixed by adjusting my technique. Love how there are sooo many different ways to hold this instrument! Keeps it fun!

Hey! It's so good to see this comparison! I was captivated by the Delta harp, and have tried it at the store. It was so heavy LOL. Then I found there is this Delta C with carbonfiber, I'm totally interested in it! I have a few questions, maybe you can answer me? Maybe you can also try it for fun... so, I've come across a video on KZbin that the woman changed the strings on her new lever harp so that the tensions becomes lower. The harp was from C to C, and now from A to A after her adjustment. What I am always curious is, why has the Delta C got a low range like that! Many songs that I play would definitely go up to D or E in the melody. So I was wondering, after seeing the changing string video, if the Delta C can do Eb to Eb. How would the tension become? Is it possible to change the levers (because of the red and blue, of course). Do you think it's interesting to make such changes? I'd be very interested if you could try that and make a video on that!

Very interesting. I didn’t realize that you couldn’t stand with your harp upright with the straps. I just assumed they were like all acoustic/electric pick up lap harps. Mine is like you stated one around the top and then wrapped around the bottom to the other side sort of so they are on opposite sides.

It'd be cool if you could collab with Emily Hopkin.

I used to busk long time ago, when I was still a student! I used to go for an hour or so and play Disney and celtic songs and left a hat out for people to tip. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

@@HarpistKT wow! So cool 😎! I thought the volume of my lever harp is pretty good in door. But when put it outside, I realize it is actually not very loud. So did you use a microphone when busking?

I sold mine (carbon fiber version) after just a few weeks. It was horribly awkward to play IMO.

It takes some getting used to! Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. I filmed this a week ago, and even since then it has gotten much easier!

I just listened to this and I can tell you (as a guitarist of 23 years) that there are a lot of hammer-ons and pull-offs in this guitar part which may be very difficult to arrange for a harp without sacrificing the unique sound of the piece.
